I'm not sure if Justin Gatlin is capable of beating Usain Bolt; it might just not possible for him physically.
In tonight's race: as large a lead as Gatlin was able to get, it wasn't enough to prevent Usain from closing it entirely in the last 50 meters (Bolt even got a bad start).
I think the false start rule is a bit extreme. These athletes have trained out of the limelight for years and all their hard work can be dashed with one false start. It's not like they're getting away w anything. Just line back up
Maybe it's better suited for the Politics board, but I think the case of Caster Semenya (an intersex woman with a pair of testes, no womb, and a testosterone level that puts her in the lower range of the world's male population) who happens to be running the Women's 800 meter tonight is a fascinating issue of competitive fairness.
