It was a fun race to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing Phelps again in the coming days. What he's been able to accomplish is nothing short of phenomenal.

Underwater kicks after his turns have always been one of his biggest strengths. The 200 meter butterfly race will be interesting. I didn't get to watch the heats today, and he's in 5th after the heats. The semifinal race is tonight at about 9pm. I doubt he went as hard as he could in the heats this morning, but seeing that many people ahead of him is unusual in any butterfly event.

It is unusual. I'll be watching tonight, not sure what to expect though.

American Lily King takes the Gold in the 100m breaststroke over the Russian 'drug cheat' Yulia Efimova with the Silver. Sweet.

Phelps 2nd in his heat and 2nd overall in the semifinals of the 200 fly. It looked like he went out a bit too fast. He had a full body length lead after the first 100 meters. He definitely looked a bit tired the last 50 meters, and came in 2nd by only 2 tenths. He'll need to pace himself a bit better in the final tomorrow and really build that last 50 meters, like he normally does.

Michael Phelps swims in the 200m Butterfly at 9:28 pm est tonight. Chad le Clos of South Africa and two Hungarians - Tamas Kenderesi and Laszlo Cseh look to be his toughest competition for Gold Medal #20. Chad le Clos barely out touched him 4 years ago in London and was engaging in some petty gamesmanship before the semifinals. Even if swimming is not your thing, this should be one of the more exciting races of the Olympics. Lots of drama.

In the least surprising development of the Olympics... USA takes the Gold in the Women's Team All Around.
