I see where you're coming from because this Carolina team has shown inconsistent stretches at times,and have a tendency to take teams for granted. That's my biggest concern. Watching this game reminds me of them beating Virginia at their own game. Defense....This team is at their best with their defense and the best chance of making a Final Four.

This is the best 12 minutes I’ve seen Duke play all year. Hope they can stay at this level for next 4-5 weeks. Seem to be peaking at the right time. Would like for Foster to get back but not sure if that’ll happen.

They are playing smart, aggressive basketball. Winning a lot of 50/50 balls. This is what it was supposed to look like .

If you can dictate the tempo of the game against them, you can get results like this bc UVA just can’t score at times. Otherwise, you get into a 62-58 type game, and they are very good at winning that way. I think the world of Bennett as a coach and as a person… you just gotta be ok with this sort of performance every now and then.

As for Duke, I’m impressed by their aggressiveness too. They’re gang rebounding. Making hard cuts. Defending every shot. It’s a winning recipe.

I kind of look at UVA basketball the way I look at teams that run the triple option in football. Like you said, if you play to their tempo and style, it’s death by a thousand paper cuts, but if you force the action and dictate tempo you’re going to be effective against them. Duke is doing that tonight .

Bennett is pure class as far as I'm concerned, but I know without the National Championship a few years back, he likely isn't at Virginia right now. I definitely agree about Virginia and their strength being stagnant defense that it's similar to the triple option. Them coming back more often than not is not likely due to their style. Either way,impressive win by Duke that was needed going into the Carolina game.

Don’t worry Duke goes to State on Monday. Just about every time Duke plays in Raleigh , State turns into a combination of the Globetrotters and 96 Bulls, while Duke plays the role of the Washington Generals perfectly.

I completely forgot that game with State as I did Carolina with Notre Dame lol. Definitely agree about Duke with NC state on the road. It's usually their kryptonite

Like we’ve said many times before: you never know what State team you’ll get. They’ll either play the game of the season or lay down like a Duck.

When Duke plays in Raleigh there’s a pretty good chance they’ll play the game of the year. I’ve seen very good Duke teams go to State and get waxed. Then the next game State loses by 20 to Wake or Little Sisters of the Blind Directional State community college.

Not that it means much because it was ND but the Heels looked like they’re ready for Duke.

Well UNC lost to GT or someone last time before they played . Worked out well for the Heels. Scheyer questioned Duke’s effort and toughness after the game in the Smith Center. Something tells me that won’t be an issue on Saturday. Should be a battle.
