Had world history at the time. The teacher would basically only be awake for Duke/Carolina. He was a bigger Duke fan than you if you can believe it. He got a lot of sleep we watched a lot of ball.

Good times. Kids today will never know…

I'm sure the resident Duke fans are ecstatic that they'll be playing NC State again tomorrow. As a Carolina fan, I'm happy to see Burns get to beat on Duke's big men again.

The good news is that this is Burns 3rd game in 3 days. I expect Duke to push the tempo a lot in this game. I think Duke will throw a lot of guys at Burns. I’m sure Filipowski will get some time guarding and then rotate Ryan Young and Stewart. That’s what would I do at least.

As I’ve gotten older and know some teachers, they looked forward to those days as much as we did. In fact, most days that we watched Stand and Deliver or Glory or any other movie there’s a solid chance that the teacher was incredibly hungover .

I try not to talk too much crap after a Duke loss, but you’re correct. They’re just not a very good team. On the other hand, I don’t quite understand how this NC State team managed to rack up so many losses.

I’m with you. Felt that way for most of the season. There have been other teams like this for me. They don’t seem to care that much so why should I? Unless something changes, I don’t see them making it to the second weekend unless they get some gifts.

They’re not a great team, but they will be HEAVY favorites in both of their first 2 games. If they don’t get to the Sweet 16, then they’ve coughed up a lung.

It’s because they’re NC State. That’s what they do.

This Duke squad reminds of the Josh McRoberts, Greg Paulus teams of the mid 2000s. No leadership, no chemistry, highly rated prospects that didn’t live up to their star power. Jeremy Roach, senior captain point guard has been an empty uniform the last 2 games. That’s against UNC on senior night and NC State in the ACC tournament. That’s unacceptable. Duke can get to the second weekend, but it doesn’t seem likely .

On paper maybe. They can flat out lay eggs. Depending on the matchup, it won’t surprise me in the least.

For whatever reason, they decided to get away from Greensboro which doesn't feel right. I guess it's money related..Then you'll have Stanford,Cal and SMU who will complain about travel.

They did it there like 8 years ago or something. Apparently it was a success. I guess it’s a sort of midway point . I know that Gary Williams used to bitch and moan about having to play in Greensboro and Charlotte a lot. A little late for Gary, but it’s a change. The biggest head scratcher I can remember is that they held it in Tampa one year. That was bizarre.

Scheyer runs the offense through Flip which is mistake number one. The rest of the offense is under the assumption we’re more talented than the other team so that’s all we need.

Last year was the same issue

1. I don’t understand why the offense goes throw KF. With all the recruiting success they’ve had recently there is no one better? He’s so emotionally scattered it’s hard to know who you’ll get from possession to possession.

2. There seems to be a lot of “me” instead of “we”. The offense doesent seem fluid outside of KF sitting on the end of the bench. Even then it only gets a little better.

3. That team lacks physical and mental toughness. They don’t fight for balls and once they feel the cause is lost they just go through the motions. There is no accountability for anything.

4. Obviously all that coming from a Carolina fan who’s team didn’t sniff the tourney last year is a lot for anyone to stomach but simply put Duke has to much talent for results like that.
