I agree. I think what Scheyer does do well is scripted plays. A lot of times coming out of a timeout he will have drawn up something typically results in a bucket or at least gets them the look that he wanted. If he’s an offensive dynamo, it hasn’t shown itself the last two years imo. Running the offense through Flip is a mistake, but I’m not sure the alternative. I’m not an offensive dynamo and JS has had two years to figure out something better and hasn’t. Flip isn’t a cancer imo, but he’s also not the wunderkind analysts make him out as either and that’s what bogs this system down
Agreed. And this where I’m saying he’s got the foundations to be a great coach, but he’s still got a learning curve in preparation, game management and learning to work with what he has. You won’t find a bigger K admirer than me, but he also struggled towards the end to work with what he had.I agree. I think what Scheyer does do well is scripted plays. I think that could be a tricky one on Saturday. Then again, Tom Izzo is a combined 2–149 against UNC and DukeAlthough this wasn't a great Michigan St. team for most of the year, the game against Carolina has me a little worried for the simple fact that Tom Izzo is their coach. For some unknown reason, I had Miss St. winning that game.
Hopefully, the bad record against UNC will continue for Izzo.
If I’m UNC , I expect a highly physical game from MSU. That’s what Izzo uses as his great equalizer in games he’s overmatched. How the game is officiated will have impact IMO.All centers around Ingram/Ryan.
Although everything starts and stops with Davis and Bacot they have to contribute at a high level.
