Well that’s part of it, but I think it’s partly due to the fact that there isn’t an athletic swing player who can get to the rim and finish or force a foul. That was evident last night.

Duke can’t play team ball. It’s the Calipari issue. I’ll draw heat for this on this board, but I’ve said it before anyway. Cal isn’t a good gameday Xs and Os guy, but despite what most want to believe, he’s a really good (not great) practice coach. His all freshmen teams do typically get a lot better overall by the end of the season.

This Duke team needs some senior players that the game goes through. Instead of the offense going through Flip, someone like Roach should be that guy. Ryan Young is the best role player I’ve seen at Duke in an unbelievably long time, but he’s not a leader, nor dominant enough to be the guy. Everyone else on the roster suffers from being the best guy on the court their entire lives until now and they haven’t been able to adjust

He needs to tone it down at times. He’s bugging me a lot this season. At the same time, it’s a shame that the time for the Oscar nominations have come and gone, RJ could’ve won for that that hit he took after the play.

If he would lock in mentally he can be a very good big man.

That being said both teams could either make a run or get bounced early.

Lose to Tech but beat Duke. I’ll never understand it.

Duke is consistently inconsistent. They're not gelling as a team. I could see a 12 seed knocking them off as a 5 in the first round at this rate.

Barring a collapse, I could see Carolina making a run to the Final Four.

Let's talk Oscar-worthy performances. While Davis may have embellished that foul, there is no denying he was struck right across the bridge of the nose well after the whistle (yet no foul was called against Filipowski). McCain, on the other hand, should certainly win Best Actor for that fantastic flop on that 3-point shot. He wasn't even touched by Cadeau.

I agree with your comment about Duke not gelling as a team. I think that Scheyer is struggling to get all those 5-star players to check their egos at the door and play cohesive team ball where players assume specific roles within the team structure. Coach K had a real gift for that, and most coaches can't handle that many huge egos.

The refs are freaking horrible in this game - some real BS calls against Carolina all of a sudden - 3 fouls in 10 seconds. Carolina's biggest fan is calling the game, and he agreed all of those calls were ridiculous.

I guess I won’t be paying taxes this year. Maybe the sun will rise in the West tomorrow. College basketball makes no sense sometimes .

Despite their ACC record, Clemson is a good basketball team . IMO theyre a tournament team. They had Duke beat in Durham and now tonight happened . If they can stay consistent they’ll definitely get in.

After that run to start the game,they were playing catch up the entire game. They'd get close and the tie you mentioned, but couldn't get over that hump because Clemson would go on a run and gain a lead. I also think Clemson is a better team than their record looks like with several close losses. The ACC seems to be coming in to its own this month. Virginia is on a roll.

Brad Brownell can coach. His teams play super hard for him. He could do some damage if he landed a big gig I think.

It appears college basketball is shaping to be like last year where there is no standout team(s), which makes for an exciting tournament when any team can win rather than the expected.

I agree. It will definitely be entertaining, but also destroy my bracket by 4pm on that first Thursday. Really hoping there isn’t another Duke vs Tennessee matchup this year.

Carolina needs to come out in the second half like they want this game more because after the Virginia game, Miami shows that they do more so far. This isn't last years Miami team,but I wouldn't count them out.

I don’t knock refs anywhere near as much as most do, but this TV Teddy crew is exceptionally bad tonight, on both sides of the ball. Even by TV Teddy standards
