almost got wiped by a truck today and it caused me to go over a rather large bump. Said bump caused my left pedal to smash into the ground and crack. I'd like to replace it with a good set of pedals, but nothing outrageously priced. Suggestions from the experts?

Check out some VP pedals. They have some nice platforms. Get something wide, sealed bearing, and with replaceable pins.

I need one of those Google glasses things

Rode along the Boulevard de Freds last evening and the walking/running path scene was a disappointing mix of old and out of shape people. Probably related to the marathon having been run on Sunday.

Finished March one mile shy of my February total.

Sad.

40mph gusts. Wasn't that bad.

The only way this can be true is if it's a tailwind.

I was surprised to see on this video that motorcycle riding is more than twice as dangerous (per mile) as bicycling.

Road twice in one week. Amazing for me. Found a road yesterday in the Jefferson National Forest that reminded me of the riding in Townsend or the Cades Cove.

25 miles, all the way to a friend's house and back. It's only about 8 miles by car... just a perfect night for a ride.

Jealous.

A couple months ago I was in Townsend for a meeting and did an out and back up to the Cove. Traffic isn't so bad . . . in the winter.

25 miles. Went beast mode on the final hill to my house. Rode the entire thing in my 53t chainring. Was a windy night, too.
