So I did A LOT of damage to my Sequoia at Dirty Kanza. Time for a new chain, bottom bracket, and NEW WHEELS. That rock broke a spoke (2nd time) and put a YUGE dent in the rim so that tubeless tires won't seal anymore. Bummed about the added expense this summer, but it happens. I'm thinking DT Swiss 350 hubs and Stans Arch or Velocity Aileron rims.

New bike path extension opened today. Out riding it right now.

Get this... It goes about 1 mile up river, over a bridge, down and loops next to a creek... Then dumps you into the shoulder of a super busy highway full of debris. Good job, Iowa.

Has anyone done the Tour de Rocky Top before? It is just July 1st. I am thinking about making the trip.

Sounds like Canyon bikes will be releasing bikes into the US in August. Tempting to get one since I am in the "market" for a new ride.

All you snooty bike people may not like this, but I've completed my build of an e-bike. I'm 60 years old and I have bad knees. It's a beast and I absolutely love it. I can climb the steepest hill with as little or as much help as I want, it's awesome!

Cool! I definitely want a Specialized Turbo for commuting. After riding our demos I am sold on it being an efficient and fun mode of transportation. Max of 28mph while still pedaling and Bluetooth control.

I witnessed a cyclist face plant on pavement this morning on the way to Franklin. Skinned him up pretty good, he couldn't go on so I gave him a ride to Arrington to meet his wife. He tore his elbow up pretty good, scraped up his knees and his left eye was swollen up. I offered to take him to the hospital but he declined. He's a member of a cycling club with 600 members, started their trek from Page high school this morning.

My buddy has Faraday e-bikes at his shop in Townsend. That's a fun bike to ride and should be a no-brainer to big city bike commuters.

I bought a cheap mountain bike for this build. I have about $400 in the bike and another $1500 for the electric part of it and another 2 or 3 hundred for incidentals. I did a lot of research and decided on a mid drive system from Luna Cycles. The system I bought should hold up for my uses, but I can see another set of rims, cassette and tires in my future (i.e. should have bought a better bike)

He must have taken a pretty hard spill. I had a dog run out in front of me a few years back right as I got to the bottom of a hill.... I was moving and went down hard

dang - looks like you left a strip of bacon on the road!

I really did.... I wish I'd have taken a better pic because it was a deep wound. I probably should have gone to the hospital and had a skin graft but the hospitals are all full of staph. I figured I'd be better off treating it myself. It took a couple of months to finally heal up and I had to keep it wet and covered. The minute it got the least bit dry it was as if salt was being poured into it. It sucked
