Holy fuvk. Goal of the year by Cisse? Christ

Goals of the year?

Maybe they're happy with settling for Europea League.

Should be a good result for the Spurs if things hold; should take a goal differential lead on Chelsea, and well ahead of Newcastle there.

Hope Tottenham inevitably falls out of the top four so we can tap up Gareth Bale.

Don't see it happening. The results just now put Tottenham ahead of Chelsea on damn should they catch up, and Newcastle's remaining two fixtures look much, much more difficult than Spurs' last two.

I saw bits of the Chelsea game, have no idea what the deal was there.

If you're being a jackwagon about where Tottenham and Newcastle end up, Newcastle has Man City and Everton left, Tottenham has Aston Villa and Fulham left.

I'm pretty sure I know who's shoes I'd rather be in.

Maybe, but if 5 and 6 get Europa, then Chelsea and Newcastle are getting them in one order or the other. I would be stunned to see Newcastle get any points in their next match and I would be surprised if Chelsea doesn't come away with any in their next match.

My viewpoint on that red card: pretty ****ing harsh. But I don't believe that Van Persie had no idea the whistle was blown, because when the hell does he ever shoot with his right foot? :)

He was an idiot and deserved it. Even if really didn't hear the whistle, which I don't believe, he still knew he was off and cranked it. And as soon as he did that he knew he was heading for the tunnel. Just plain stupidity. And barca still would have won.

I seriously doubt it. I doubt the Bale rumors are true, as well, but one can dream.

I think they've been dispelled to some extent in the last 24 hours. Especially if they can get something done in the cl. That fourth place finish is looking likely now imo

If Tottenham bombs out these last two matches or does jack chit with their potential CL spot and finishes mid-table next season, I could see Bale petitioning for a sale to one of the big five if the opportunity is there. But I just don't see him jumping to Barca.

I feel like he would only move to a team like Barca. He has brought Tottenham so far it would be ****ty to jump ship across town now. I know money does things, but I feel like he could move out of country and get the same cash.

Unfortunately, athletes do that sort of thing all the time. Also, I tend to be accustomed to the idea that players from the isles tend to stay there in their prime, especially the Welsh.

Either way, if/when Tottenham wraps up the season top four and if they have a good showing after that, I think this whole conversation is moot.
