and i did that with Newcastle and didnt enjoy watching them so im looking for a new team to watch. if i dont enjoy watching them, i will choose yet another. who are you a fan of Tyler?
Turnover with coaches can be so high that it differs from year to year.

Don't worry about watching a team that may go down. That's why they have relegation, if your team is bad then sweating out relegation can be a thrill, there are a number of Timbers fans that are also Sunderland fans. That's also why there is league championship, which if you watch Sky Sports or ESPNUK or read the tabloids, isn't exactly barren of coverage.

I started watching Tottenham because I liked the players, and 'Arry (in spite of the fact that he's a former Flounder) and the fact that it's in a place I'd actually want to go vacation, and probably above all else, didn't want on the browagon with Chelsea or l'Arse or ManU.
Andy Carroll on loan to West Ham.
Told my scouser friends that he was out one way or another, they didn't believe me. West Ham should be a good fit. He was very underwhelming but he's still a top notch target man. The reds just aren't a good fit for him.

With the climate of European football, there's honestly no point in cheering for teams in the EPL other than Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and both Manchester teams. It's a sport of money right now and those teams have it. I can see why people would like to choose a team other than those to be non-bandwagony, but your team is never going to win anything if you do.

Spurs are WAY ahead of Liverpool right now. I don't know how the two stack up financially, but as far as results the last 3 seasons go, Liverpool isn't on their level at this point.

Liverpool is not among that group right now. The Fenway group is a joke.

And besides, as evidenced by City, any club is a wealthy Russian/Saudi owner away from dominance.

Also, doesn't mean one of the others can't sneak in for the fourth CL spot which Spurs were PK's away from last season.

Spurs are ahead of them in terms of results, but they will more than likely always be a feeder club. Lost their great coach and about to lose their best player if you believe the media.

Liverpool will be back sooner or later.

Not that I buy AVB's chances at success, but Modric doesn't fit his system anyhow. I think he'll be out to Madrid. I still like the line-up. Vertonghen was a nice get.

You still aren't winning anything.
Whether or not they are CL final quality right now has zero bearing on who I choose to support. I recognize that Spurs are borderline CL quality at best to begin with.

These things are ephemeral. Man City was a nobody ten years ago, now they are one of the best sides on the planet.

Watch what happens if a new stadium deal becomes legit.

What's the latest on that? Hadn't they awarded the Olympic Stadium to West Ham at one point, but then West Ham had to back out of the deal? I know that there were some issues with another club complaining that it was too close to their own ground and that Spurs had originally been one of the other teams in the running to take over the stadium once the Olympics ended.

Hopefully they won't end up moving into the Olympic Stadium. Being forced to keep the track will just make the atmosphere suck. Even the closest fans would hardly be within a stones throw of the pitch. The other plan looks an awful lot like The Emirates. I know Arsenal have started making a lot more money since they moved there, but again, the atmosphere is awful. I guess that's the price of progress though. Throughout the world sporting events are basically just becoming corporate affairs where the actual game is nothing more than a side-show.

New stadiums aren't always what they crack up to be, just look at Emirates. Also, lets not forget the original buyers of titles, Man U.

The Emirates has brought Arsenal a lot more money than they were making when they played at Highbury. However, it hasn't led to more titles because the Manchester teams are still significantly outspending them.

There's still a 0.000001% chance it won't bring more corporate money and sponsorship in there. Apparently one of GB's prominent grocery chains is paying buku quid to open up a franchise at the future White Hart Lane.

Besides, I can't point enough to Man City. Ten years ago they were in League Championship, and up until five years ago they weren't any better than Villa or Sunderland. Fortunes can change that quickly.

If you want to support a team that is never going to not win something in the EPL, your choices are pretty much limited to Chelsea and Man U.

The one thing that made me glad to see City win the league last season was knowing that the handful of true blue long-time supporters experienced a level of joy that almost all supporters of Man U or Barca or Bayern Munich or Real Madrid etc. will never know.

That, plus the look on Sir Alex & Co. faces when they found out Man City turned it around was beyond priceless.

I am an Arsenal fan. So, if you have been watching lately you can be assured I am no bandwagon fan. haha I know that they have a chance and it is a good feeling, but I enjoy their style of play and respect the way they handle their business.

To be in the running for trophies every year with the money they spend is amazing IMO, and it has solidified my decision to be a fan of the team.

I wasn't asking you to pick Southampton or anything, but really just saying watch the games and find a team you are drawn to. Newcastle is a boring team so I do not blame you for not liking them, and I had the same problem with Man U and Chelsea.

I might be biased, but I think you should consider being an Arsenal fan. There isn't a better team to watch in the PL, and that is just a fact. That is, unless you like trash goals and/or watching cashball.

While I agree that supporters of those teams wouldn't feel as much joy as other supporters.. I can't say that I don't feel that way about Man City as well.

They have spent over $400 million in the last 3-4 years, and every single person that supports them expected them to win. If they didn't win the trophy it would be surprising. With that said, I don't see how it could come with that much excitement. JMO.

If the NBA got rid of the salary cap and the Blazers spent $150million on a roster and won, I'd be equally ecstatic considering the three and a half decades of mediocrity that preceded it.

When you don't win in, well forever, it doesn't matter to the life long supporters how much m money money the club spent as of late. And I bet a lot of them didn't expect to win.
