No doubt about that. If Adu/someone else is ready at forward, and our strategy against the big boys doesn't consist of trying to escape with a 0-0 tie, we could make a serious run.

i wouldn't count on Adu. He hardly plays on a Greek league team.

His development has been disappointing, but he's got the talent to be far better than any option we have at forward right now. He's fast enough and has the skills and shooting ability no one here has, IMO. The decision to sign with DC United was disastrous for his career. He would be much better had he just signed with AC Milan when he was younger. He can still do very well. It's just a question of will he ever get there.

I still remember all the hype that he garnered when he signed with them back in the day. It was insane.

Yeah. Comparisons to Ronaldo and stuff like that was going way too far. However, this kid has not come close to realizing his potential. Seeing him play, you can tell he's considerably more skilled than any of our guys. He went to play professionally in Europe when he wasn't ready. That was a mistake, but he's still been a successful scorer when he does play. He needs to come back to the MLS and start some more, and go back to Europe when he's ready to start for a respectable team, not see limited playing time on some Greek squad.

Pretty ugly. Dempsey has been horrible. I do not like him as that second forward behind Altidore. Just doesn't have the mentality for that position. He really needs to be out wide.

From what I've seen since the 25th minute, I strongly disagree with both these posts...

Other than some problems facing the counter attack, things really seem fine.

edit: Just realized those posts were made during the half.

How does Torres not start after how he played today. That was a world class performance by him in the second half.

I like what I saw from Findley. The thing I'm worried about is that he hasn't played much. I'm not sure what to expect from him on a game by game basis. If he can play well, we can afford to keep Dempsey in the midfield, although I'm sure he'll attack plenty. In that case, we'd have a great midfield, IMO.

"Coming on as a second half sub was Jose Francisco Torres but the young midfielder barely even saw the ball and barely did enough to warrant mentioning. His defense seems to have improved though."
