I really hope the Braves can hold on, mostly because of Bobby's last year and all, but I just don't see anyway they can.

This team has serious flaws and should have taken on water a long time ago.

Hope they prove me wrong, though.

It was always bound to be a close race to the end. The Phils played crazy while we stunk to get a big lead then the roles switches for us to get the lead. Now things are gonna even out. Luckily the schedule gets much better for us. Lots of home games the rest of the way. We just have to get back to winning the close ones.

The final series for the braves/phillies in Oct is going to be huge.

I don't have anything to base this from, but I still think that Hanson will be a number one or two starter in the bigs.

Oh, I still think he's going to be a good pitcher. But if he were going to be the kind of pitcher who's a perennial Cy Young contender, which is what his ceiling looked like two years ago, we'd have seen more of it by now. He's started almost 50 games in the majors and has had only a couple of truly dominant, lights-out performances. We'd have seen more of that by now if he were likely to be a great pitcher, rather than merely a really good one.

ESPN is blacked out for me tonight and I"m extremely unhappy about it. I assume the game is being broadcast on SportsSouth or one of the other cable channels. For some reason, these cable networks are considered local programming, but since I have Dish, I'm left to watch online.

That sucks, do you have the MLB channel on Dish?

Not at the moment. Dish randomly selects bonus channels to give for a month or so, and that was one of the channels I had back in early summer. Watching on ESPN3, though the disclaimer says it's subject to blackouts as well, so I really have no idea what's going on. Oh well, give 'em hell Timmy!

I don't know what it was for Bautista, but if it was anything like their asking price for Scott Downs, it was astronomically high.

btw, reds fan, you need to buy me tickets to every Reds/Braves series. I've been to 5 games in Cincy over the past 3 years, and the braves have lost every one of them. Three years ago I was there to see the Braves get swept in a 3 game series. Last year I went to one, and I was at the game on Sunday. Terrible! :censored:

They guy is only a month shy of his 24th birthday. Last year he was 11-4 with a 2.89 ERA as a Rookie. What more do you want to see from him other than a bit more consistancy, which I think comes with more and more experience.
