I meant to get on here and post while it was still tied that would be good time to bring Wagner in. Good thing Cox saved him for the 9th inning, when the game's on the line.

Is this one of those losses that a team doesn't recover from?

This one hurts.

Eh, it's baseball. You play again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day. This is one that you look back at if you finish one game out of the playoffs, but if the Astros win tonight then you call it a wash. Cox is extremely good at keeping the team on an even keel; they'll bounce back.

good points.

Don't get me wrong; I'm as pissed off as anybody. But I'm not worried about this being a devastating loss that derails the whole season. It's just one loss out of about 70.

It wasn't just Jurrjens; the whole team seemed to lose their focus. Getaway day, afternoon game, day off tomorrow, 9-run lead.....it just looked like they were all mentally back on the plane to Atlanta with a W already.

....and the Astros beat Roy Halliday. The Braves got swept by the Rockies, so the Phillies returned the favor and got swept by Houston. So the whole thing's a wash.

Sure would have been nice to win at least 1 in Colorado. We're coming up on a time in the season where a 4 or 5 game lead is huge.

No doubt, but better to get swept on the road by Colorado, who are at least a better than .500 team, than at home by Houston, who suck. It's all going to come down to those last 6 out of 12 games against Philly anyway.

That's a good point. As bad a week as it's been for the Braves, it's definitely been worse for the Phillies.

I just found some cheap tickets for the Phillies series and I think I'm going to head down there at some point on the final weekend.

Braves lose 3 to Rockies-first time since losing to Detroit. However, Houston does the Braves a favor by taking 3 from Philly. :good!::clapping:No gain for the Phillies! Great. Tough road ahead for September as the Braves play withhin their division. The only team they play outside the division is St Louis-3 games. Need to win 20 games in September. Not until the Braves have a 4 game lead with 3 left with Philly is the season complete, but not quite unless we quiet the Phils too! GO BRAVES!!!!:dance2::yahoo:
