Hate to say it, but I'm afraid the Braves are done. Hudson and Jurrjens are flat out choking down the stretch and the Braves aren't good enough offensively to overcome average starting pitching.

Sadly, I agree. Our hitting is too sporadic right now and our top pitchers have been getting knocked around lately. Lowe has looked like the best of the bunch lately and that's never a good thing.

It made the Phillies better but the Braves have been playing .500 baseball the past month. That wasn't going to get it done regardless.

As bad as the Braves are playing, .500 on the way in gets them to 91 wins which might still be enough. It would force the Giants to go 12-5 to win the wildcard.

He really only made one mistake. Also, its not like our regulars have been hitting well with runners in scorinng position.

if we somehow make the playoffs. we win the world series. it would mean we got hot.

This September reminds me a lot of last year when we had a great chance at making the playoffs, then we had an epic meltdown.
If we can't get the bats going and our pitching staff keeps getting smoke-poled then we truely are screwed. Our only shot is the wildcard, I'd say Philly has the division locked up.

Just saw the replay of Heyward's HR. Man, that ball was crushed. It was one of his patented line drives that carry forever, but this one got all the way to the facade of the upper deck. That ball probably goes close to 500' on flat ground.

The Braves really need to be watching the Wild Card at this point. For some reason, I'm most worried about the Rockies.

AA pitcher Brandon Beachy gets his 1st start tonight. I haven't heard the guy mentioned much, but I just heard Frank Wren on XM actually say that Beachy has the best command of anyone IN THE ORGANIZATION. Not that I doubt Wren, but I'll believe it when I see it.
