We wont get swept by Philly. They'll have the division wrapped up by then and will be resting guys and we're at home. We'll take 2 of those games. The key is beating Wash. today and winning 2 of 3 against Florida...that should put us in a position to make the playoffs. What is bad even though the Giants and Padres play the last series together that the Braves could get swept by Philly again. Hope it doesn't happen.
I wonder if he's even with the team next year. If Chipper makes it back, he clearly will not be the everyday 2B. And if they sign a bat for LF, there's going to be nowhere for him to play. The Braves have to decide whether it's worth $2.5 million to bring him back for the "super sub" role.Go ahead and join together in your strength in numbers argument, but Omar Infante is not an every day MLB player. Those clamoring for him to have started all season or for him to be counted on as a regular next season..just say no.

I just looked up his numbers and it blew my mind when I saw that next year will be his 10th year in MLB. I knew he had played with the Tigers . . . but not that long.
The other thing that's going to suck is that the Braves aren't going to have any idea whether they'll have to pay Chipper until March, so even if his salary comes off the payroll, all the big name free agents will be gone.
Bobby Cox seemed to confirm this when he said his All-Star infielder is "definitely going to be out a while."
