What is bad even though the Giants and Padres play the last series together that the Braves could get swept by Philly again. Hope it doesn't happen.

We wont get swept by Philly. They'll have the division wrapped up by then and will be resting guys and we're at home. We'll take 2 of those games. The key is beating Wash. today and winning 2 of 3 against Florida...that should put us in a position to make the playoffs.

Go ahead and join together in your strength in numbers argument, but Omar Infante is not an every day MLB player. Those clamoring for him to have started all season or for him to be counted on as a regular next season..just say no.

I wonder if he's even with the team next year. If Chipper makes it back, he clearly will not be the everyday 2B. And if they sign a bat for LF, there's going to be nowhere for him to play. The Braves have to decide whether it's worth $2.5 million to bring him back for the "super sub" role.

I just looked up his numbers and it blew my mind when I saw that next year will be his 10th year in MLB. I knew he had played with the Tigers . . . but not that long.

He's an everyday player compared to much of the rest of the 2010 Braves roster, which is all that matters. He should have been in the lineup all year.

I am just not seeing it. I'd be stunned if the Braves did anything other than go the platoon route again in LF.

Please stop injecting reality into this. Let me daydream about Carl Crawford leading off and playing LF.

Hinske, Ankiel, Glaus and Wagner are the salaries that they will be going off the payroll, correct?

The other thing that's going to suck is that the Braves aren't going to have any idea whether they'll have to pay Chipper until March, so even if his salary comes off the payroll, all the big name free agents will be gone.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but the Braves were not going to seriously go after any big name free agents anyway. They won't as long as Liberty owns the team. With honest ownership and a real budget, then yeah, it would suck that they won't know about Chipper until spring training, but even if Chipper were to announce his retirement tomorrow, they'd just put most of his salary in their back pocket just like they did most of Vazquez's salary this year.

The Braves will look at the roster this offseason and decide that Heyward, McCann, Freeman, and Prado are good enough to be competitive. They'll resign Infante or make another third-tier FA signing. Maybe they'll try to add another semi-legitimate bat by trading off some of their pitching, but they're sure not going to buy a good one on the open market.

My God. I don't even know what to call him now.

McSuck, McChoke, McDoublePlay, McRainbow, McLOST

How this guy has a roster spot is beyond me. Must have nude photos of Bobby.

Well, it looks like we're finally going to get Heyward hitting 3rd now. I guess it means either Glaus or Conrad at 3rd but I have no idea who is going to hit 2nd.

my guess is Conrad, I doubt they try out Glaus this late in the season. And why not Conrad in the 2nd spot, hes a decent hitter.

Sounds like Prado is done for the year. Pretty devastating even though he's been banged up and slumping.

Just turned it over to see the marlins player being carted off.

Couldn't tell but it looked like his leg broke to me.
