I actually think, and this may come as a surprise, that BJ needs to be in the lineup. Maybe, just maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle w/ him. J Blaze has been not good the second half. Upton has a higher ceiling IMO.

Gattis has been hitting the ball better, and J-Blaze stills brings you the ability to get on base against righties. I would platoon them. JMO.

When BJ gets hot he can backpack a team. When J Blaze get hot you just know that he's alive.

SSS alert! SSS alert! SSS alert! Nor do I believe in clutch in baseball.

But he does have a career .554 slugging percentage in the playoffs.

I would go with Uggla over Elliot and put Uggla 8th in the order. He can draw you a walk and hopefully start a rally for you late in the game.

Bee Jay UPTON
Swag to infinity this year.

He had 26 RBI's. Didn't even crack double digit HRs. Can't help but laugh at this point. I've gone from being redneck mad to *feeling sorry for the guy. OBP of .268 Struck out 151 times in 391 at bats.

The Braves paid him $1.45 million for every home run he hit.

And $501,923.08 for every RBI. LOL Ouch.

*As much sympathy as can be expected anyhow considering his gargantuan bank account.

You know I love Gattis, but he is a great bat off the bench in a late inning game. When you play the match ups right, he is money.

I'm starting BJ against kershaw, over Gattis. Game is gonna be too tight for an inevitable mishap in left.

It feels like Fredi has decided to go with Gattis in left (I know we are talking about what we would do).

B.J. batted .106 in September. His last start was September 25th against Milwaukee. Egads.

Locker out for about a month at best. Could've been worse and I can't believe I am going to say this, but damn I am disappointed. He has been playing great.

This is what concerns me. What if Gattis pulls what he did Saturday against the Phillies? Could get really ugly.

What about a J-Blaze/BJ platoon then?

Yeah, he has been beyond bad. But it is a new season, crazy things happen in October. I just don't like Gattis in the OF.

If we were playing the Pirates or Reds, solid pitching teams, I would understand and probably agree with you. But against Kershaw/Greinke, we need all bats on deck. Gattis slugged .480 this year. He might strike out three times, but he also has a decent chance for a double or homer too.

I wish B.J. or Jordan would have better second half and we can use Gattis as our main bat off the bench, because he's great in that role. I see both sides of the argument.

Rob Lewis just said that Rashaan Gaulden could've been a 5* if he wouldn't have sat out last year.

For the record, High School football recruiting guru guy agrees.

Just in case you wondered how MLB evaluates umpires- they just announced the playoff umpire rotations. CB Buckner is umpiring the Deteoit series and will be behind the plate for game 2.
