Kris Medlen was 93 lbs as a freshman in high school.

I was 93 lbs in the 4th grade.

How can somebody be that skinny?

Those of you gents with the season VOL tickets, what is the going rate on those (if you don't mind)?.. thinking about going that route next season.

For faculty (if you know someone), they sent this out this year:

" We do have limited availability in the lower level in sections Y6-Z15 and G-P in Neyland Stadium for ONLY $296 per season ticket. "

That's a really good deal, unfortunately I don't know anyone on the staff.

Nelson Cruz is 9-21 with 3 bombs off David price. And he's batting 6th tonight for the Rangers.

RIP Dbake...

GWN, Lawgator over in the politics forum is spouting off about how all government employees that stay home because of the shutdown will just get back pay once the funding bill passes, but others are challenging him saying this is only the case for a select group of government workers. Is this true, and if not, are you in the group that will eventually collect the back pay or are you just on unpaid vacation waiting for it to pass?

Both statements are likely true. It depends on if you are essential or non-essential personnel (here at our Traning Academy, we are considered non-essential) and if you are excepted or non-excepted. I have heard that we may be backpaid after the funding bill passes, but there's no guarantee of that. Even if I do get back pay for this period, I'm scheduled to be furloughed an additional 21 days this year to make up for a financial shortfall in my agency, and I damned sure won't be getting any back pay for those days. I'm sure that will make Lawgator very happy.

Interesting. Just figured I'd get the info straight from someone who's actually involved in the whole mess as opposed to someone pushing their agenda over there.

Pretty sure there was back pay the last time there was a shutdown back in '99. But nothing is guaranteed. It just depends on what the govt decides. I actually think lg will be right and fed workers get back pay

I can't go Thursday. I was leaning towards taking the boy down there on Friday, but there's no way I can juggle the logistics of rush hour and getting the other kid to Mrs Verc and not miss at least two innings. So screw it, I'm just going to stay home. I'm sure I won't be alone.
