Let me ask the obvious question about LaStella. He's 24 and he's never had an AB above AA. Why is he a better option?

Why didn't he get called up when Uggla went on DL to see if he can be a contributor? Would you rather have La Stella or Constanza pinch hitting?

If anyone had any belief in la stella whatsoever he would have gotten a call. We claimed Elliot freakin Johnson for crying out loud.

La Stella Double A slash Line: .343/.422/.473

Jose Constanza Triple A slash Line: .276/.334/.314

Plus La Stella is an infielder. If we were discussing leaving Uggla off the postseason roster, why not give Gosselin or La Stella a few September at-bats? Especially since Fredi wasn't playing for home field?

Well this organization decided to put Jose Constanza on the postseason roster, so I'm not exactly going to trust their decision making right now.

I don't disagree with your opinion whatsoever but it's obvious that the people with a lot more information than us don't have an ounce of belief in him currently because 2nd base has been a black hole all season and as noted, he doesn't even have a AAA AB

It is very curious, I do agree.

I am just pissed that the organization doesn't 't have the understanding of a) Constanza sucks and b) Carrying just five infielders is asinine and stupid.

I'm assuming laird can play the corners in an emergency. Gattis has some reps at first. Janish and Johnson can play everywhere.

I'm sure constanza is a pinch runner only so we can use Schafer and upton to PH I guess. Might as well have put the homie Myke jones on the roster

I'll say it again. La Stella is 24 and has 300 total ABs above high A ball. There's no way a guy like that can end up on the playoff roster.

The Braves are going to be, if they aren't already, the dead last organization in the majors to understand advanced metrics. Like, you know, OBP.

Yep. Pretty obvious that the Braves don't really think La Stella has a future.

I don't know if it is so much that as they aren't sure where to put him. He may very well have a future, but most stuff that I have seen is that many scouts don't think that future is at 2nd. Admittedly I have not read much on the Braves perspective, just stuff previewing the Arizona fall league talking about trying him at different positions

So why not give him some at bats in September. They shouldn't 't do it now, but they did not think ahead here.

Again . . . He's 24. They've had him in the system for 4-5 years, yet he hasn't even spent a full season in AA and has yo-yo'd up and down. Clearly, they know who he is and see him as a project for some reason.

I've been converted about starting BJ and using Gattis as a bench piece after looking at the postseason roster .

Against the type of pitching and low scoring they're probably about to see, I'm leaning that way too. Defense is going to be huge.

That's not true at all. He was drafted in 2011 and never demoted. He hasn't even spent two years in the system.
