At least AA makes guys prove themselves at the MLB level before he pays them.
I’m all for teams (especially smaller markets) locking up their young stars much like the Braves have but they gotta show they can do it at the MLB level to some degree first. Kid is 19 and has played 6 games above AA, good for the kid though.Right, this is insane to me. Baseball is littered with dudes who killed in the minors and flamed out hard in the pros.
Because developed players stemming from the farm system aren't already in the lineup and under contract for the forseeable future?
Braves have 7(!!!) guys signed for the next four years at our position players. I can see Scott’s point about building up pitching though. I don’t think they’re trading Waldrep.
