1. Nice to see the team come back from a really bad loss and beat a team they should. Good job today.

2. It was really nice to see Jordan McRae step up. Did a good job on the boards and I actually thought he should have taken more shots.

3. Speaking of McRae, I think it's time to start Jordan McRae over Cam Tatum. It would just be best.

4. Please, for all that is good in the world, can we please get Maymon and Stokes more shots!? Please!?

5. You know why Coach Martin wants to make this program about defense? Because of tonight's shooting. Horrible offense, but still a 15 point win because of great defense (and some bad offense from Auburn).

6. I thought Trae did a good job not forcing things. But it's obvious it's still a work in progress.

7. 12 turnovers in a half? Ugh, we have to stop that. That was the biggest negative tonight.

8. Good, solid win. We did what we were suppose to do. Now, let's shock the world Tuesday against Kentucky!

I agree with everything except the bold. There were at least 6 possessions if not more that Golden drove it in way to deep, and was 1 on 3. One reason he was 2-9 shooting. If he would quit doing that, he would be doing great.

Yes, but he didn't force the issue IMO. There is always gonna be a couple bad plays. The problem is that he's just wildly inconsistent.

1. it was a win, nothing more nothing less thats what you ask for.

2. hopefully this is a starting point for mcrae.

3. i called for this 2 weeks ago :dance2:

4. i worry if these boys dont start getting more touches there is going to be frustration mounting.

5. CCM has said many times this is why he wants his teams to be defense first. there are going to be games where the shots dont fall with great defense you are still in those games.

6. completely disagree, did you watch the whole game ZJC?

7. the worst part was 4 or 5 of them were in the last 4 minutes when we had the game wrapped up.

This team is terrible on the offensive end. We need to get a guard that can score the ball. I think we are a great coached team on defense. However, I think we are a poorly coached team on offense. We have not gotten any better on offense all year cept when we got the shot in the arm when Stokes came to town.

Yes I did, though my interest slightly faded in the second half. I just never got the feeling that Golden is killing the team with his play, which means, to me, he wasn't forcing the issue when it wasn't there...maybe I'm just blind.

what do you propose CCM do with the offense? you have to have the horses to compete man. he's tried tatum that's failed, richardson has no offense, skylar can only shoot once in awhile from 3, mcrae played good tonight but thats a first. whats your solution at guard?

i didnt know if maybe you flipped away for a bit. his 2 assists and 4 turnovers are troublesome, and so is his 2-9 from the field which included a 3 in the final minute or 2. he pushed it too far into the lane all night and isists on shooting that floater continuously, if its falling ok but if not stop shooting it. the way he played a few games back, maybe uconn?, he took only 4 shots but had about 6 assists and 2 turnovers thats how id like to see him play when the shot isnt falling. its a learning process for him that is all he likes to play fast and really push the ball and he needs to learn when that is and is not a smart idea.

The unforced turnovers are a major issue. We could have won by 30.

yea. as ccm has said if its a pressing team thats one thing, but a team that doesnt press that unacceptable. 16 isnt a horrible number, its a bit high, but 12 in one half is horrible especially when its in the 2nd half when the game is put away.

I was phenomenally frustrated with Golden's play. His constant dribbling and then driving to the goal is bad enough but he neverrrrrrrrrrr looks to distribute the ball to the bigs when he is triple teamed when he drives to the goal. His floaters are maddening as well. I guess he must have made one against Carson Newman and is determined to keep trying them.

He has had a couple of games where he played really well, moved the ball, passed well but he clogs down the whole offense when he plays like he did tonight -- primarily because he thinks he is the offense.

When he plays like he did today he is by far the worst point guard we have had since before Pearl. Is the pg from Alabama eligible next year?

you obviously dont remember the days of jordan howell and ramar smith, hell even melvin goins? our minds are set up to remember the most recent things strongest so it seems that way but i can assure you he is not the worst.

who?

Remar could finish when he went to the rim - he couldn't shoot it very well from outside, but he didn't have many 2 for 9 games and I don't think he had any games where he shot 17 times = I will give you Howell but I don't think he started, and Goins while not great was still a better point than Golden.

Golden has had games when he played well and distributed but he has had just as many where he didn't. His point guard play is about as consistent as Tatum's shooting imo.

ramar had a lower fg%, a lower 3pt %, a lower ft%, scored fewer points, averaged less assists, averaged more turnovers, less rebounds, and less blocks. clearly goldenn is better in every facit of the game, i agree ramar was a better finisher but that is litterly it.

goins also had a lower fg%, 3pt %, lower ft%, scored fewer points, averages less assist and averaged more turnovers. as ive stated golden is here and now so everybody wants to hate but he is an upgrade clearly over everyone except maybe bobby maze.

you would be hard pressed to find many games that he has had that were worse than ramar or goins. even tonight 11 pts 4 rebounds 2 assists is better than what youd get from those guys on their better nights, and this was a bad night for golden.

I dont really care what he does im not the coach not my place to fix it or give hypothetical solutions. All I know is that we are 20+ games into the season and his team has not gotten any better on the offensive end. Playing great defensively tho love that part.
