The Avengers

Also, are Battlefield, The Dictator and What to Expect supposed to be tough box office competition?

I would say no to the last one, The Dictator successful marketing so possibly, Battleship could have been this year's Transformers that stole first place from the Avengers.

Recent article talking that The Avengers has The Dark Knight in it's sights.
According to it The Avengers 467 Million
The Dark Knight 533 Million

I took my boys to the IMAX 3D at Regal Turkey Creek yesterday. Very impressive combination of in-your-face cinematography and tons of story and sub-plots to keep it interesting. The sound and picture in that cinema are astounding. We all had a great time.

I don't think anyone ever thought it would be that; it's essentially a dumber Transformers movie, and I didn't think that was possible.

Yes, that IMAX rocks!! I saw it there as well, and the first part with the Tesseract flaming was amazing.

Interesting choice for a villain. I wish the iron Man movies would get away from the villains trying to copy the Iron Man armor. It's a little repetitive now.

I had heard they were doing the Extremis story line.

Is that Iron Man and Captain America's lovechild?

Actually, in a weird way yeah.

So does this mean they are bringing the Norman Osborn character back to the Marvel universe, since he was licensed out to Sony for the first Spider-Man? Or will they change from the comic and have him be someone else?

No doubt that theater is awesome, but you should try the new "Big D" theater in Maryville.

Saw it.

Really liked it. It was a fun movie to go see. I loved the Hulk (he's actually my favorite super hero). Was great to watch.

Like that they are doing a second one.

Then What Iron Man Super Villain do you think they should use that doesn't use armor?

What about Mandarin?

Yes, and the Mandarin is supposed to play some type of role in the IM3. The Extremis storyline didn't feature an armor wearing villain.

Introducing AIM would be a good start then use MODOK. There's Count Neferia and Madam Masque. Immortus/Kang are more Avengers villains but have played an integral in IM history.

Or my personal favorite....

Actually, when I think about it, the majority of IM's villains are pretty lame.

A hugely underrated Iron Man super villain that should be a deadly foe The Living Laser.

Has Madam Masque ever fought Iron Man as in only her fighting Iron Man? I ask because with the same durabiity as a human, and human weapons I wonder how she would be a challenge for Iron Man?

Iron man fights a lot of soviet super slugs.... He needs an update in the villan category, same as Cap... although I would like to see more nazi smashing.

Loki not running away made sense because he wanted to be caught anyway.

But.... as much as I did like the movie the Phantom Menace ending did bother me.

They couldn't possibly bring back the same character without paying for/purchasing back rights from Sony...and more or less doing so would be a mess (because of how fickle these contracts can be, as well as because Sony and Disney are kind of competition)

But that's a bit beside the point:

Iron Patriot NOT in Iron Man 3? - IGN

Apparently turns out it's just a redesign for War Machine's armor

Okay, remember those leaked Iron Patriot photos from the set of Iron Man 3? Well, as it turns out, that wasn't exactly the Iron Patriot, at least not in the strictest sense.

Latino Review is now reporting that those new armor pics are actually just an update on Don Cheadle's War Machine getup. And that other guy in the suit? He's a stuntman -- not James Badge Dale or any other mistaken celebrity. While this new look may eventually be called "Iron Patriot" in the film, for now, it shouldn't be considered another villain in the movie's roster.

EXCLUSIVE! Iron Patriot is NOT in ‘Iron Man 3′ | Latino-Review.com

We happened to find this out a good 2 hours after we jumped on the Iron Patriot bandwagon and reported it, but I had to sit on it and watch people endlessly report “Iron Patriot” news.

It wasn’t until we finally got a look at Don Cheadle on set that we here at Latino-Review can clear something up for you:

That armor you’ve been seeing? That’s not Iron Patriot, that’s War Machine and this is all based on a “hey that white guy must be James Badge Dale” mistake made by a photo service or a gossip site (hard to trace back).

It’s not a movie star, it’s just a white guy. A very nice stunt man who allowed Don Cheadle to not be on set that day. The scene they were filming had Tony Stark and a bunch of military folks, so it makes total sense that this is the moment they debut the new War Machine armor.

We’re getting this from someone on set who says what we’re all calling “Iron Patriot” is Don Cheadle’s new armor. For purposes of clarity, I’ll still be calling it War Machine, even if the movie decides to call him “Iron Patriot”

The US Government has had their hands on this Stark suit for awhile, and apparently they’ve decided to make it more patriotic (especially with the nano-technology stuff I hear is going down in China these days, it’s important for America to look good, not like ‘Iron Man 2′s’ bulky grey War Machine).

That’s why the set photo of “Iron Patriot” has the War Machine gun on his back, because it’s NOT Iron Patriot, it’s NOT James Badge Dale, it’s NOT Coldblood-7.

The scene they were shooting at the airport in North Carolina (where we once again nabbed some spy photos of the new armor) involves the Vice President and a flight to China. Since the world is a world of super-humans post Avengers, who better to guard the Veep than America’s most expensive armor?

That explains how we also got our first look at Don Cheadle on set on the same day.

It’s ‘Iron Man 3′ there’s gonna be tons of new armor stuff, that’s what ‘Iron Man’ movies do. If “piling way too many villains” is something you think they also do, I hope this eases your fears a little. Yeah, we still have Guy Pearce and The Mandarin infecting soldiers with Extremis. [that part though might still be somewhat speculative, as it links to another one of their articles]

But there is no Iron Patriot/Coldblood hybrid villain, that’s just FALSE.
