What does that have to do with anything? I've not said anything about UT other then we haven't won in a long time. It's all cyclical. The first 11 years of the dvisions the East went 8-3. In the last 12 the west is 9-3. Both have had stretches where they won 6 straight; the East in the early days and the West currently. In between it was basically back and forth every year for 10 years. It'll even out once again.

It doesn't matter if they deserve it or not. They will make the playoff. Even a one loss OSU will make the playoff.

Yep I am well aware. I know there have been 4 really good schools from the SEC. It's impressive. Those fans have a lot to be proud of.

Then why say it's a "claim"? A claim is something that is asserted to be true, that is actually in doubt or disputed. The numbers are undisputed; 9-2 in BCSNC games (and we're 1 of them, so we'll stake credit).

And there's been one really good B1G team. Congrats. In all honesty, would you rather beat your chest knowing you beat Bama, LSU, UGA, Ole Miss and SCar (using AU as an example per se) than beat MSU, Rutgers, PSU, Minnesota etc. as OSU did/will/has?

It is a "claim". Winning the title doesn't default you to best conference. If that is the case then the B1G was the best last year.

I congratulate Tennessee winning that title vs a backup QB. Kudos.

In all honestly who cares? The title is the title. Tennessee won the title in 98 playing Mississippi State in Atlanta. MISSISSIPPI ST...they lost 5 games that season. They have never sniffed Atlanta before or since. They beat an injured Noles team for the title. Did you care? Do you say man we won the title but didn't really play tough enough teams?

Nope you still have your National Championship swag you display proudly.

I think we're better this year, should be a close game.

Maybe being away from the shoe will give you guys that extra boost this year. No one likes to get blasted at home, sure hope we don't.

In all seriousness I think you are right. Tennessee wins giving Butch his 2nd win over a ranked opponent. I won't be a buyer till Gainesville though.

2) tied for most teams with BCS bowl appearances

3) most bowl participating teams in a season in NCAA history

4) most NFL draft picks since 2003

5) most active NFL players of any conference.

6) SEC has winning bowl record vs Big12, B1G, ACC, Pac 10/12

7) seven SEC teams have more bowl victories than the B1G leader (OSU)

8) B1G has a losing bowl record vs ACC, Big12, SEC, Pac 10/12 and Big East.

What numbers would support the "claim" that the SEC is the best conference if titles, bowl eligibility, bowl appearances, bowl records, NFL draft picks etc don't support that claim?
