I would not be excited about a Sims visit to a game to see a former team mate play. He has been here for camp and could still be playing the staff.

Going to Bama does not make sense when you look at the depth chart at UT, but he has been pretty adamant about his commitment to Bama. I really do not see how he fits the system at Bama better than he does ours, but if he goes down there and ends up 3rd string so be it.

I still think that Kiffin would keep looking for a 6'4" 220 lb kid with a strong arm and a GPA of 3.8 and a 28 ACT to be our prototypical QB. I think that is the mold he is looking for.

Watch Munchie win a Rose Bowl or National Championship. Peyton Manning was better than Tee Martin. Peyton may have a Lombardi but T won a championship for us. :p

And no... Munchie pry won't be as good as T. I was just sayin. The best doesn't always win. See USC vs. Texas and the Patriots vs. the Giants. Lossssers. Losssssers. Lossssers. :p

My bad, I think it was Blake that came to camp. But it would still take more than a visit for P. Sims to start some excitement. A de-commitment from Bama would be a starter.

First of all, WTF did you just say?

Second of all, I clearly remember a while back in a QB thread saying that Jesse Scroggins and Jake Heaps were the two best QBs Tennessee was after, even posting videos of the two, and you pretty much said something to the effect of "No, those guys aren't anything. This is a guy UT needs to go after.." and stated Munchie.

Hard to live that down.

Put an X through Heaps and Legeaux. Simms' name has popped up alot in this thread and Matt has steered clear of mentioning him which means either (1) it's Simms or (2) Matt is a poker player.:shades:

With so much talk about Sims, what is the scouting report on him? What is he supposed to do well and what does he need work on? Arm strength? Accuracy? Decision making? etc etc

no i didnt say anything to he effect that scroggins and heaps arren't anything, i would read before i post if i were you. i was verry big on munchie and i still belive he can play and will do great things, i dont think he handled the preasure well at the ut and ole miss camps though, and that hurt him. if you dont know what you are talking about its best to be quite. i would never say scroggins and heaps "arn't anything"

Scouts would show you those things. He is ranked the #1 quarterback... enough said. If there was anything he could do to get better it would be grow another inch or two. He is tall enough at 6'2 but he is the best of the bunch coming out of high school.

Where is this Strauss offer for 2011 stuff coming from? That doesn't make any sense at all. I realize the grayshirt part of it, I'm just saying it makes no sense to do that. None.

This thread is worse than a bunch of housewives on a party line back in the 1950's. I am now expecting that Matt will come back with information on the discovery of Peyton Manning's illegitimate son in Louisiana. We are just waiting on the results of the DNA testing before we can offer him a scholarship.

timestamps ??? i cooled alot on munchie after the camps. he was my top choice before the camps. and how conveient the thread got deleated where i said "scoggins and heaps aren't anything" . if i were you i would keep my fingers away from the keyboard and worry about myself, not attacking others opinnions.
and if we could get a guy like cam newton, i wouldnt feel bad about possibley wasting a scholly on legaux cause he may turn out to be something great. with a few years of mentoring. i know guys that know munchie and have talked to him a few times myself, he was in knots before those camps wanting to play for UT. his faveroit player was Tee martin. so that has alot to do with the fact i was pulling for him to. you need to get a clue. but thank you for putting me in a pissy mood for tomarrows 6:30 practice, you got an email where the kids could thank you??? LOL.

sab i didnt even look it up till after i posted it, one of our other coahces told me today he got an offer from us for 2011, and i looked on rivals and didnt see it. was a total mistake on my part, ive ben trying to watch film on our first game against powell valley where the jones brothers played, and do this, sence thanks to CEO. wilson and kiffin and otheres has me hooked on the recruting board here.
