The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

casey, then banks for a brief while, then ainge and schaffer i belive, and i think croyle would have ben like a year or 2 after casey.

I think Croyle started the year after Casey graduated. I recall Banks now. Was he benched for Rick or did he play an entire season first. I know you missed Rick. I missed Banks. I know Ainge shared with Schaeffer but I wrote Brent off because he sucked and never did anything.

2003 - C. Clausen
2004 - Ainge, Schaeffer, and R. Clausen
2005 - Ainge and R. Clausen
2006 - Ainge
2007 - Ainge
2008 - Crompton, Stephens, and Coleman
2009 - Crompton

2004 was Ainge and Schaeffer.

Yeah. I remember having high hopes for Brent and writing of Ainge. That was stupid. His initials were perfect.... first starting freshman quarterback for Tennessee(or was it SEC).... BS.

nite all, kids are getting punished tomarrow with 6:30 AM 1st session, and stadium stairs are first on the agenda. they didnt take the voluntary conditioning seroisuly enough.

So it did go directly from Casey to Ainge and I wasn't imagining it. That's weird Rick came after Ainge. After I thought about it I remembered Rick and thought he came before Ainge. While thinking that I just didn't think Rick came right after Casey. Then what about Banks? Did he just play wide receiver then? Cause I remember him at wide receiver now that I think about it. Or am I think of Leak. I am all mixed up now haha.

Rick tranferred in and played after Ainge and Schaeffer went down in 2004. Because of his play at the end of the season (mainly the Cotton Bowl win), the staff was unsure who should start 05 (Ainge or Clausen).
James Banks was in as an athlete who wouldn't pan out as a QB. He became a WR, then got kicked off the team in either 03 or 04.
C.J. Leak graduated in 04, I believe.
Jim Bob Cooter should have started all 18 years he played for UT.

Banks played WR...Leak moved around all over the place after he failed to win the job in 04 and I think ended up at linebacker.

Good. I'm not crazy. Casey to Ainge. Correct. James Bank WR. Correct. I was wrong about Rick playing before Ainge. I mixed that up because Casey to Ainge just seems weird now. Feels like it has been a lot longer. Technically it has been a long time. I think Leak played tight end. That may be wrong.

It was technically Casey to Schaeffer to Ainge to Rick to Ainge to Rick to Ainge to Rick to Ainge...

For the sake of volnation and all things human can we please get back on the topic of what this thread was about?!?!?!

so we have eliminated sims, heaps, and munchie. Who is left?

Schaeffer only played a couple games and then left the team. I don't even count him because he didn't play a full season. Rick actually did stuff. I admitted I left off Schaeffer on purpose and that I was wrong about Rick.

In his defense, Schaeffer didn't finish his freshman year due to injury, not whooping ass on the guy who was hitting on his girlfriend.

Haha. He ended up sucking at Ole Miss. Seriously though... I am willing to count Rick(barely) but not Schaeffer. To me it was basically Casey to Ainge. Just because they were legit quarterbacks that held the starting job for a period of time. At least a complete season. How many games did Rick manage to start in a row? I really don't remember. I just remember him sucking compared to Casey and beating his former team LSU.

well...I mean...How many consecutive games did Ainge start in that season? Seriously, though. Whoever started a game in 2005 could pretty much guarantee that he would be on the bench at the end.

Oh I know. I am not using that season specifically. I am just saying later on he ended up starting a full season. Those seasons were cluster ****s. Being as Ainge was the one to pan out I basically just write off Schaeffer. You're right though. Schaeffer started first and played also. I just like to forget that. Especially after watching him at Ole Miss. Nasty. :)

You all have ruined the fun that was this thread

Sorry for talking about Tennessee football. :hmm:

The one thing good about it is that the players being talked about were apart of the team and school. We don't know who this thread is referring to or if they'll even end up a Vol after we find out. Not to mention they may never contribute if they join the team. :p

So we could get more info tom..?

Or the day after... or the day after. Earlier he said it could be anywhere from tonight up to a few days. Just tell yourself a week. We should know for certain within the week and you'll be happy to get the info anytime sooner. Most likely will.

Guys, this really isn't that hard to figure out who Matt is talking about...

- Matt writes for Oregon, Bama, and UT. He most likely will have more info on those 3 schools than any others...
- He said he can't say who the player is because "where the player is at." That is a big clue...
- The rumors just keep coming and coming about this player over the past 2 months...
- He is the Big Fish...

Wow....seriously, Matt needs to stop it with these silly tease routines. 30+ pages of nothingness because he drops a teaser, which itself is much to do about nothing. Great way to spend our time...a lengthy, non-productive discussion of the weight value of nothing.

If he keeps this up, might as well start some "Guess what my secret is" threads of my own, and just for sh!tz & giggles, see how many pages I can get it up to before people realize how big a waste it really is.
