The Big Tech March to Silence Free Speech

Why should an employer provide birth control? The business agreed to make a cake they just refused to make one that violated their “terms of service”. They would’ve made a cake and said “here put whatever you want in it” but that wasn’t good enough. People for the most part aren’t against moderation as long as it’s equally applied by unbiased moderators or at least ones that can pretend to be. If someone is threatening to kill someone on any platform we can all agree action should be taken. If someone is saying we should protest something we don’t agree with is where we run into issues because apparently it depends on who’s saying it now.

You miss the point.

Either business can choose who they serve or they can't. Pretty clearly, the Trumpers want it both ways.

It’s not totally black and white. The left constantly screams tolerance and it’s the epitome of irony. Look at all the s**t law enforcement has had to deal with in regards to being served at businesses. In some instances there has been repercussions and in some there was none. I guarantee none of these violators were canceled from every social media platform, denied utilities, etc.

I shouldn't be surprised that you're unable to connect the dots on your ilks inability to reconcile gay cake tyranny and "big tech" not wanting their platforms used to coordinate violence among its users, but this was an easy one.

Like I said, your ad hom's are a manifestation of your insecurities and you keep telling on yourself.

I quoted it just to frame the stupidity.

Yeah, a utility that people don't need for basic comfort or pay for. Makes as little sense as treating them like a publisher.

Maybe platforms are their own new kind of thing and we should stop trying to regulate it with old ideas that work with qualitatively different business models.

No matter what solution you ask for, it's always going to boil down to the government deciding things. I assume you trust about 10% of Republicans and 0% of Democrats. I'm more like 2% and 1%. Good luck with fixing the internet, man.

No, it is black and white. Either you want deregulation and private business to remain free of governmental dictates or you don't. There are no caveats or carve outs because of feelz.

In your analogy, Rs want to choose who they can serve in the bakery but not on social media. Ds want to choose who they can serve on social media but not in the bakery. Why is it then that it's the "Trumpers" who want it both ways?

Again You left out the cardiopulmonary arrest

"The difficulty surrounding exhalation leads to a slow form of suffocation. Carbon dioxide builds up in the blood, resulting in a high level of carbonic acid in the blood. The body responds instinctively, triggering the desire to breathe. At the same time, the heart beats faster to circulate available oxygen. The decreased oxygen (due to the difficulty in exhaling) causes damage to the tissues and the capillaries begin leaking watery fluid from the blood into the tissues. This results in a build-up of fluid around the heart (pericardial effusion) and lungs (pleural effusion). The collapsing lungs, failing heart, dehydration, and the inability to get sufficient oxygen to the tissues essentially suffocate the victim.5 The decreased oxygen also damages the heart itself (myocardial infarction) which leads to cardiac arrest. In severe cases of cardiac stress, the heart can even burst, a process known as cardiac rupture.6 Jesus most likely died of a heart attack."

The Science of the Crucifixion.

By publicly sympathizing with the black criminals immediately without allowing the investigations to finish and all the facts to be gathered. By sending aids or personally attending funerals of those criminals, thereby elevating their importance over that of the law enforcement community. By constantly pointing out the perceived racial disparity. Etc.

I think Obama is a genuinely good guy. I don't think he intentionally created the snowflake/victim mentality. I think it happened because his administration meddled with state jurisdiction and constantly harped on all the minority injustice, perceived or actual. Life isn't fair. Sometimes things occur because of a matter of happenstance rather than discrimination.
So by showing sympathy and attending funerals? That seems extremely tenuous. I dont get that at all.

Well, it's the trumpers that are the ones currently losing their collective minds about not being able to plan their insurrection parties on a private businesses platform...

Personally, I don't believe the bakery should have to do anything they don't want to do. Full Stop. Nor do I believe that "big tech" should be forced to expected to host the thugs who are using their tech to plan and carry out violence.

Fine. Do with all the discrimination bs and let it be a free for all.

But why did the left get it both ways?

Is it your implication that "big techs" decision equates to "the left" or is this the implication because the right is mad about it and therefore "big tech" must be "the left" by default?

I ask because I know a bunch of folks on the right who are pretty OK with Trump not being able to incite any more nonsense via twitter.

Maybe they shouldn’t be forced to do it but they were at least willing to compromise which is something the other side wasn’t. As for the big tech claim, if there was a plan to carry out violence a week ago the same plans have been ignored for years as long it was coming from the other side. Maybe there should be penalties for having policies you don’t equally apply.

Silicon valley is pretty left leaning. Been that way for a while. The left wants to silence Trump and any sorry he may have. That's much different than your "friends on the right" 😏 wanting him to shut up

You mean like not shopping or utilizing the goods or services of a business that you disagree with?

If only that were an option.

No. You’re saying a business should be able to do whatever they want, except for this.....

No I said that business should decide who they get to do business with. And then I said "full stop." No where in any of my posts did I imply "except for this..."

Either make points against what I said not what you wished I'd have said or move along..

If you're going to keep equating private business with not wanting to host calls for violence as "the left" then you're myopically focusing on the who and not the why.

The “if I had a son” bs. Sending the DOJ to Ferguson to stir the pot when it was clearly an open and shut case. Let’s not forget about the terrorists who committed “workplace violence”. I’m sure if Trump commuted or pardoned some klan members it would be all good and a sign of “unity”.
Not sure how Obama saying that Trayvon looked like he could be his son is stirring anything up. It's true and that case was a tragedy. Martin was killed in cold blood while doing nothing wrong. Zimmerman is, was, and will always be a piece of dogs##t that cannot exit this planet fast enough. It won't be long before he kills another person and it will be likely be a wife or girlfriend. He's had several domestic violence incidents involving guns since he killed Martin.

Twitter hosts calls for violence and more of them. These are calls for violence worldwide. Why they are not subject to the same rules is an important question

If all they were doing was stopping calls for violence then maybe you would have a point. But, it isn't and you know that.
