Gotta love the morons who constantly cry "RACISM" when given the opportunity. But maybe he/she is right. Those evil southern white people should have never helped that poor black kid go to a better school and get an education.. Damned racists!

The movie did suck though. A better story would've been Patrick Willis' story who was also helped by evil white people in Bruceton, TN and had to raise his own siblings at the same time. He was helped to get in to Ole Miss too.

How can you guys say that movie sucked?! It was based in TN. It was about SEC football. It had a neat story to it. What do you want; another LA or NY based cop movie? I thought that movie was awesome!

Hey now y'all back up off my man LW. He has an opinion like anyone else. Whether you agree with him or not. I don't find it racist but I would like to see LW's thoughts on this.

I think it was the fact that almost every Black person was a criminal, unemployed or on crack that many people didn't like.

:hmm: Really??

If you're gonna throw a claim of racism out there you might want to explain yourself. Otherwise, you're no better than that nutcase Chris Matthews.

How is that movie racist? It recounts the true events of Michael Oher, currently playing for the Ravens.

I'm of the opinion the movie was borderline racist because every African American in the movie, from the neighborhood drug dealer to the the NCAA investigator, was at odds with, or didn't appear to give a crap about Oher....and I found it that hard to believe.

Should they have depicted the projects in Memphis as being full of well-to-do people? The place that was once the murder/crime capital of the US? I understand being against racial stereotyping but it's kind of like wanting to show a trailer park in Tennessee thats full of Rhodes scholars.. It's just not accurate or in this case was accurate for the area. I'm pretty sure Michael Oher would say the same

Also how Michael was portrayed as so dumb that he didn't know that he was supposed to block for the quarterback until the pretty white lady told him how too. I bet Hugh Freeze doesn't like that part either.

The entire movie is pretty bad and is just a blatant(successful) Oscar grab for Sandra Bullock.

A very wealthy white couple in Memphis (a historically racially divided city - I know I lived there for 30 years) DOESN'T drive by in their BMW on the way to Germantown (predominantly white) and decide to help a kid in distress is racist? You'll need to back that up to be seriously considered....or....are you one of those that throws that card out there for emotional responses? What have you done for a stranger lately? What about someone of an opposite race?.....Thats what I thought.

Wonder where he would be today if they hadn't helped Oher? Not saying he wouldn't have made something of himself, but its pretty tough for a kid from S. Memphis to "make it" without an education.

BTW, the school he attended is my alma-mater - Briarcrest. The tuition alone is $10k+ which only continues to speak volumes about the family's generosity.

I have no issues with a wealthy family of any race helping an underprivileged kid of any race.

I do have a problem with the movie portraying every black person in Oher's life as a villain. I refuse to believe there wasn't one black person in Oher's life who served as a positive influence.

That's why I feel the movie was borderline racist. It's no different than that stupid ESPN commercial with Tennessee fans in the elevator, reinforcing all kinds of negative stereotypes about southerners.

I thought The Blind Side was an overrated movie that did not deserve any of the Oscar nominations it got. Depending on where you come from, what you've experiance and what your world view is, you can either see racism ranging from "everywhere" to "no where." The Blind Side has plenty of racial content that during its release there were a number of articles asking the same question. So its not surprising that many people see the movie as racist, or "boarderline" racist. I personally do not think the filmmakers intentionally made a racist movie but when dealing with such a plot it could easily be seen that way. If anything its boarderline racist simply due to the plot.

I always thought it was funny how that movie made Hugh Freeze (Burt Cotton) out to be an incompetent fool.

That movie sucked, and was borderline racist.

Let me guess! You are a Democrat, right???? And only Democrats are allowed to help people. If anyone else does help someone, then it is because they have some type of hidden motive...
Only Democrats can be nice and thoughtful and help others....... Did I get it right?????

I would say more like the nut cases like Nancy Pelosi (Let's pass ObamaCare,so we can read it and see what is in it)or Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry ( The reason people are in the military is because they made C's in highschool) Diane FeinStein.

Those are the nutcases for wanting to destroy this country and make it a Socialist Country.
