The Braves Thread

You can’t sell high when he has little value right now. Your best value is hoping he turns it around and can help you down the stretch. I don’t think the Braves would get a top 10 system product right now for him so why trade him? At the very least he eats innings and can have a great start.

Ender is an average hitter. He relies on singles and his BABIP is 46 points below normal. He’s been bad but he’s still a plus defender and can still you a base. He could easily bat .320 after the ASG break and get back to his normal season output. Unless you get a big time OF bat that can help no point in trading him. He’s also on a super team friendly deal.

I guess I don’t see Julio turning it around. He might have a great start every now and then, but that velocity is on a consistent decline and my opinion is that it will only get worse.

On Ender, I guess I just see more value in having Acuña in center and try to find some power in LF. I can’t believe it but I’d try to resign Markakis if a guy like Harper ultimately isn’t realistic.

Okay so let’s say he doesn’t. What are you gonna get for him and who is taking his plaice? You can still get 5IP from him almost every day. We have three guys who can do that at the MLB level. Even if he’s struggling we need that.

And yeah I agree but what corner OF are available right now? And most rebuilding teams are going to want a guy with just 3 years control? Those teams want prospects.

I mean, it’s not an either/or to me. You try to throw Ender in a deal for a pitcher that replaces Julio. And then, if you can, throw Julio in something for a LF or 3B. They’re additional pieces at this point. Not guys you can build a trade around. I’d also venture to guess a guy like Ender would have value for a good relief P.

I don’t know. I’m just saying I wouldn’t have an issue trading either of those guys if a team wants them.

Crazy how your frontline anchor ace has little value. That’s wild, unheard of even

Who has been the best Braves pitcher since 2013? Teheran. That makes him the default ace. This year, someone finally took that mantle and it’s Folty. He is now the ace. AKA the team’s best starter

Let the season end. I remember plenty of people placing the crown on his feeble head many times over before.

Is it just me or was anyone wishing the Braves had pulled the trigger on Matt Harvey? I always felt like with him it would’ve been a good spot seeing how pitching was a weakness from day 1. I was slightly optimistic after they gave Bautista his shot. No dice
