The Braves Thread

The thing about Cohen is that it isn't really in his nature to listen to other people. He made billions of dollars trading stocks - he thinks he knows everything. He has some Trump-like qualities to him. It wouldn't surprise me if as time goes on he has a falling out with Stearns, or whoever his GM happens to be.
Or runs out of money. Soto making more than Ohtani is absurd. Eventually he's going to hit a negative ROI with these contracts.

He won't run out of money. That's a safe bet.

The hope is that he runs smart baseball people off and nobody wants to work for him. Like a lot of guys with his background and money, he's notoriously difficult to work for.

Not disagreeing, but it's easy to work with assholes when they give you a lot of money.
Not necessarily. Cohen is going to inevitably disagree with a smart baseball person because Cohen is not a smart baseball person. He just wants to own a team and win a bunch of games. Like I was saying it isn't in his nature (no different than a lot of people who came from a relatively modest background a made a mountain of money) to seriously listen to other people, even of those people know a lot more than him about a given topic.

"If you were so smart, I'd be working for you" is a common refrain from people like him.

Guys who age the best are OBP guys with good contact skills and an elite ability to not chase. Soto matches that to a T. Even if he’s at 1B in 5 years it won’t matter with a .420 OBP

Why did they get to be in the top 4 then?
Because they won their conference and are still better than the other teams that won theirs even without him. FSU wasn't guaranteed a spot for winning their conference. If Georgia had lost I'd be all for them being left out.
