You don’t make the playoffs (even extended playoffs) 7 straight years and luck into it even with the head start Coppy gave him. But just the absolute lack of aggressiveness and foresight into the explosion of MLB salaries is going to feel like a lost opportunity to win some rings.

We lost Minter and Jimenez, have a 35 year old closer, lost two starters that produced 1,289 innings the last 4 years and we’ve made zero moves to the pitching staff

We don’t have a SS, a backup option for a 2nd baseman who finds himself on the IL every year or an entire OFer (if you want to generously call the de la Cruz/Kelenic platoon one spot)
