The Braves Thread

It's actually up to date (for the most part).

Nacho had a pretty amazing year in AAA as a 21 year old. Don't sell him short because he struggled in the majors. He clearly isn't a SS, but he still projects well as a 2b or perhaps a lite hitting 3b. He draws a lot of comparisons to Martin Prado for what its worth.

AJSS again is super young and didn't exactly bomb in his cup of tea in the majors over the past 2 seasons. Pitchers don't typically reach the majors before their 21st B-Day and the ones that do tend to be pretty elite prospects. He had a rough year in AAA, but his pure stuff gives him legitimate ace level potential.
It’s their updated list from last year. Neither are close to those for 2025

Baldwin wasn't ranked anywhere last year, so how is he ranked 30th overall if the list was from last year?

Here is the Braves updated top prospect list from June:

And here is their Braves Organizational chart for 2025:

As you can see, Nacho's grade was moved up from a 45+ FV to a 50 FV. So was Baldwins. AJSS and Waldrep stayed the same.

Yes that is based off of mid year 2024. So the change from the beginning of 2024 to mid year. Fangraphs has not posted 2025 top 100 or a new Braves list yet

I get that. But they have updated the end of 2024 rankings to include Baldwin at #30. In fact it shows they were updated today.

While their ranking on the top 100 list MIGHT change, their FVs have already been adjusted. If AJSS is still considered a 55 FV SP (no reason to think he isn't), he is easily going to remain a top 50 prospect.

This is last year, not sure how else to break it to ya. AJSS while we hope he figures it at at the young age of 22, is not going to be a top 50 prospect on any list you find

No matter how bad you are at your job, just know Adam Sliver exists and keep pushing @raw dog

10 minute quarters????
NBA is so funny now lol. Just an absolute joke.

I was actually just browsing Bronny’s stats. He has appeared in 13 games.. averaging 0.3/0.4/0.3

the most ridiculous stat line I think I’ve ever seen. I honestly believe I could put up those numbers.

Probably not considering the games start after you go to bed

My guy. They've already established their FV ratings. AJSS remains as a 55 FV. He will absolutely remain a top 50 prospect.

Nacho is a 50 FV now as well.

The saddest part of the whole thing is that I'm not even sure Bronny wants to be doing this. For all we know, he might have wanted to go to a lower-level college program where he could play a lot and truly develop, and he'd still be there. He'd get the college experience, play a lot of basketball, etc., all while still getting the benefits of being LeBron James's son.

Bronny isn't even good enough to get significant minutes at a middling P4 conference program, much less the G-League.

That plane crash in DC is just awful man.

When I lived in Friendsville planes use to fly low level to land at McGhee-Tyson all the time and always had that intrusive thought like “man what would I do if some how the plan just landed in our field” and it’s crazy to think this doesn’t happen more. It looks like it occurred over water. The only saving grace.

(This was a Wes Rucker-esque post I know)

Saw this on another forum I visit. Kiley McDaniel just released his Top 100 and Top 200 prospects. Here are Braves prospects that made his lists:

Drake Baldwin 44
Nacho Alvarez 85
AJ Smith-Shawver 128
Luis Guanipa 140
Owen Murphy 142
Cam Caminiti 164

Seems odd that he doesn't have Waldrep on his list anywhere when Guanipa, Murphy, and Caminiti are all on the list. Certainly I would put him over Murphy who just had TJS.

That’s ugly
