The Braves Thread

What prospects do we even have for this?

If a team was dreaming upon AJSS or Waldrep etc my assumption is those guys would be gone already
According to Fangrpahs, these are the Braves top prospects:

That is 4 prospects in the Fangraphs top 50 overall prospects, all with a 50 FV rating or better. If you are unfamiliar with how Fangraphs future value (FV) system I can link some info. But suffice to say, our top 4 prospects are regarded very well.

The Pads gave up 1 prospect ranked inside the fangraphs top 100 last year when they acquired Cease. The secondary pieces the ChiSox received were good, but we can safely assume that with 1 less year of control, the Pads won't receive as good of a package as they gave up for Cease.

I imagine a trade for Cease looks something like 1 top 5 prospect not named AJSS or Baldwin, 1 prospect in the 10-15 range, and another throw in type of prospect. Pads are probably holding out for a better offer from somewhere else or trying to wait out the Braves to see if they come off Baldwin/AJSS. If the Pads attached Suarez in the deal with Cease, they could get a better package.

When was this updated because there’s no chance nacho Alvarez is a top 50 prospect. Nor is AJSS

It's actually up to date (for the most part).

Nacho had a pretty amazing year in AAA as a 21 year old. Don't sell him short because he struggled in the majors. He clearly isn't a SS, but he still projects well as a 2b or perhaps a lite hitting 3b. He draws a lot of comparisons to Martin Prado for what its worth.

AJSS again is super young and didn't exactly bomb in his cup of tea in the majors over the past 2 seasons. Pitchers don't typically reach the majors before their 21st B-Day and the ones that do tend to be pretty elite prospects. He had a rough year in AAA, but his pure stuff gives him legitimate ace level potential.
