Yeah... you so kindly left out the parts where I was stupid, redneck, ignorant.. and how all everything i had to say was garbage, and especially the part of how sadened and downtrodden lawvol was TN would allow someone like me into a graduate program at his beloved institution of TN. I didn't proclaim i was guilt free. It takes 2 to tango.. but call it both ways. Trust me, Lawvol was in no way the victim. I called for a truce last night and tonight... notice none of the other parties involved are volunteering to chill out. No, they will be back on here tomorrow doing the same thing again, starting with their belittling comments trying to engage another verbal bashing. This time though, they can be crude as they like, I'm not going to give them the courtesy of dropping back down to that level.

I shouldn't have been rude and namecalled, I admit that, but people tend to get a bit defensive when they're made to feel stupid and belittled.

No. It's both of them of them. You're just reading Volstylexx's snide remarks. LawVol is just as guilty with his frequent insulting jabs at Volstylexx's opinion on social media whenever facebook is brought up.

I read the entire thread. There were no such posts. It could be that these threads were sanitized by the mods already.

LawVol's posts in the threads that I've read question Volstylexx's conclusions that Facebook now rules the world. They didn't say anything negative about Volstylexx. Granted, maybe there's an entirely different thread out there somewhere that I haven't seen, but the threads that I've read through have been mud free other than the mud thrown by Volstylexx (and I read them the first time last night as they were happening, and then just went back through them again). It could be that these threads were sanitized by the mods already.

Personally, I often disagree with LawVol myself. However, from what I've read, he wasn't out of line in these discussions.

Oh there were plenty.. you just dont see them because the mods deleted the entire thread from last night because it was he and I and a few others going back and forth. Then it started back up today with the "first quote in this thread".

like i said, I was wrong for dropping to that level and being insulting myself, but it takes 2 to tango. I admit i was wrong and I'm moving past it.... let's hope the outcome is different for me than the last TN man who said that. :blink:

While you were posting this response, I added a comment to my post saying that it was very possible that those threads were already sanitized by the mods. See, that's an example that it's not one-sided.

I said that I read through all of last night's thread in which you two were involved (which is where YOU said he was ripping into you), so quit taking my post out of context.

Your links to LawVol's post from tonight are after you kicked things off early tonight by calling him ignorant.

yeah i didn't realize until today the thread had been deleted... so things maybe are a little more fair than i thought.

I said it last night and I'll say it again. It's sad that the state of TN athletics has vol fans fighting against vol fans. If there wasn't such negativity in the program we'd have too many positive things to discuss rather than arguing with each other.

I give credence to a lot of things Lawvol and others say here, but that doesn't mean that I'm not entitled to my own opinion. It's been a bad week for TN and you can definately tell the emotion runs high... at the end of the day, the common thread is that we all love our university.

I agree with all of that. However, I also agree with LawVol that your Facebook pages are going to be absolutely meaningless because the big money donors that are going to make the calls on both Pearl and Hamilton couldn't care less about Facebook.

My calling him ignorant was because the third post in this thread was a direct shot at me from the heated debate we had last night. As the one poster here acknowledged it's not one sided - as they have enjoyed making snide comments indirectly directed at me. I just thought it was funny they were taking a shot at me.. and yet the poster came back with "yes it is organized by facebook" lol....


I agree with you, a facebook page is not going to fire hamilton or keep pearl. That was not the brunt of my debate with lawvol. I study social media at TN and was arguing that it is becoming more and more relevant in our society. People use facebook, twitter,and social sites like volnation to join together under a shared cause. It makes people feel like their voices matter. I aruged that it helped Obama win the election, and it helped Egypt throw out a regime of over 35 years....

You can't simply say that social media has no relevance and that everyone who uses it are moron trash as indiciated by lawvol. That was the crux of our disagreement.

I was kicked off of the Bruce Pearl fb page, called a "Ky fan" and sent hate mail for pointing out the keep Pearl, fire Hamilton hypocrisy.

There was a group like this of over 1000 students supposedly planning to wear black to the '08 Orange and White game to protest the university's decision to start charging students for football tickets. You could count the number of people who actually followed through with it on both hands.

Almost every school in the SEC charges students for tickets. That's also the norm across most power programs. UT students were too spoiled by free tickets to realize that was the exception, not the rule.
