The cancel culture is getting out of control

BREAKING: MAGA Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is slammed with a lawsuit from a coalition of Arkansas book enthusiasts furious over her deranged new law that threatens librarians with jail time if they help minors get ahold of banned books. The lawsuit correctly states that the GOP law is a blatant violation of 1st and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

As usual, we see that conservatives only really care about defending "free speech" when it's hate speech they agree with. Actual free speech — as in books that right-wingers find offensive — is something that Republicans are working tirelessly to destroy. The pro-ignorance, anti-learning law will “subject librarians and booksellers to criminal charges if they provide 'harmful' materials to minors" if the law goes into effect on August 1st.

The Arkansas Library Association and the Central Arkansas Library System are two of the central organizations involved with the lawsuit and should be commended for taking a stand. “Library workers across Arkansas are rightly concerned that the overly broad edicts of Act 372 will prevent them from serving their patrons as they have always done, by providing a wide variety of materials to fill their information needs, and perhaps more importantly, materials that allow each child to see themselves in the books in their library,” said Arkansas Library Association President Carol Coffey.

You posted this same thing in the future liberals want thread.

Yes... when asked where I trained and was stationed the reply will always be knox, Ft. Sam, Benning, and Bragg.

Pretty stupid move renaming all these places. I did Basic at Ft Benning and that's the end of it, and I expect almost every vet feels the same way. Pop up one of the new names and nobody (without current connections or not living near the base) will have a clue what you are talking about ... or care less because those places are still Ft Benning, Ft Bragg, Ft Hood, ... Liberals and their biased sensitivities are simply childish POS.

I also don't get the Joint Base crap either. One branch owns the place and anybody else is a tenant.

Watch: Beach Boys Singer Mike Love Mocks His Potential Cancellation over ‘Gender-Specific’ Songs Like ‘Surfer Girl’

Mike Love, a singer for the immortal pop band The Beach Boys, recently joked about potentially being canceled over a gender-specific song.

In a video shared from a recent concert, Love introduced the song “Surfer Girl” and issued a few subtle jabs at Budweiser and the FBI.

“At any rate, this next song I’m a little concerned about doing this on account of its gender specific. Hope there’s nobody from Budweiser here,” he said, prompting thunderous laughter from the audience.

“Or the FBI. Sorry, I apologize in advance for anything I might say or do because it’s a family tradition you know what I’m saying. OK, this song is dedicated to all the ladies here,” he concluded before the song began.

Morgan Wallen said the N word on camera and “the right” pushed him up the charts too, that is a pretty strange thing to brag about though

Pearl clutching intensifies!

Saying it’s kind of stupid for people to rally around (and then brag about rallying around) hillbilly **** like using the N word and wearing blackface is not pearl clutching, learn what words mean before you use them

Yeah. You're totally not triggered by people not giving a sh*t that their favorite country star said the forbidden word and that he didn't get canceled.

I don’t care whether people get canceled, I think it’s funny that saying the N word makes someone MORE popular and that people brag about that, and you don’t know what “triggered” means either (shockingly)

Round three of responses from you. Clearly not triggered. And yeah, all you have to do to get more popular is say the forbidden word. Just ask Michael Richards. His career totally took off after that stand-up set.

You thinking having a conversation = triggered just proves my point about you having no idea what those words mean lol. The dictionary is kicking your ass this morning

Much more polarized now than 2006. If Aldean made a song called “N****r” and there was any pushback from the left, there would definitely be some “HELL YEAH THE WOKE MEDIA DOESN’T WANT YOU TO HEAR THIS” people out there

Yeah he got tons of work after that, didn't he. Remember all those sitcoms he got offered? Lol.

Do you want me to just repeat the first sentence of the post you quoted again?

I said a country star got more popular a couple years ago after being caught using the N word, and he did. You can deflect to a full-on racist rant in a different profession 20 years ago if you'd like, but in that same profession Louis CK also used the N word more recently and he just won a Grammy

Morgan Wallen didn’t get popular because he said the “N” word. He was pretty well known well before that. He most definitely got more exposure after that, but to say that he is as popular with fans because of that is just ignorant. Check the downloads on Apple Music and ITunes and you will see that. All his concerts sell out pretty much immediately also.

No one said these or doubted that he's a popular artist with music people like. I simply said he got more popular immediately after using the N word in a similar "take that, cancel culture" atmosphere, which is what happened, and that it's funny for people to brag about things like this

Despite being actively shunned by his industry after video of him shouting a racial slur was published, country music singer Morgan Wallen has seen a spike in album sales and streams.

The video, published last Tuesday by TMZ, has spurred a flurry of consequences for the singer: He was pulled from airplay by several major radio groups, suspended by his label, reportedly dropped by his booking agency and denied eligibility for a major awards competition. Yet Wallen saw a 1,220 percent increase in digital album sales and a 327 percent increase in song sales between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Rolling Stone.

Got it. I wonder why more budding country artists haven't come out with videos showing them using the forbidden word? Seems like an easy way to become a superstar.

Nah, needs to be someone semi-established so people can whine about "getting canceled" first

There's dozens of artists in that category right now. Let's see if they start pumping out leaked videos of them saying the two forbidden syllables. Somehow I doubt it will happen. But they're leaving tens of millions on the table by not being more racist!
