It isn't much, but we moved up a spot in RPI yesterday. We are 47th now.

I think it'll be a small miracle if this team makes it. I don't see it, but stranger things have happened before.

It's a big if they would win the whole thing and MTSU's RPI is 83, SOS 68...in addition, I haven't seen MTSU being considered.

They did beat Rice 2 out of 3 in conference play, but that's about it that I can tell for RPI top 25 teams.

And they play Rice today. Rice is a shoo-in we know and if ODU can still get in despite not winning the tourney then it gets sticky I would think. We own a win or 2 over Middle but I'm not sure them winning the conference would be enough of an RPI boost for us, to offset a lost spot to another CUSA team.

If we're sitting at home while Middle and ODU are both in, that raises serious questions as to what's needed/deserving to qualify then.

We beat them 2-0 and the 2nd game got rained out...I don't think there is any way for CUSA to get three bids...I could be wrong.

Is the Rice/MTSU game under way?

I think the BaseVols deserve to be in a regional, but I have a feeling the committee hates the SEC (yeah I know don't say it, I have a keen sense of the obvious).

Not sure. They said last night on Nashville news what time it started and I can't remember 100%, but I wanna say it was this evening (6-7).

We gotta hope the committee doesn't still see ODU as a formidable candidate IF MTSU somehow wins it.

Western Carolina got tossed from the SOCON tourney, losing 2 games in a row.

RPI is 51, 2-5 vs. top 50, no games vs. top 25 RPI and we beat them head to head 6-2 in a mid week game.

They were the favorites to win it, and they are now at home with 2 post season losses.

Georgia Southern beat #WCU 8-4 to eliminate the #Catamounts. Don’t think the Catamounts get into the field after going 0-2 in #SoCon tourn.

That would open up a spot for us potentially....

Evansville is another team predicted to get an automatic bid that has lost 2 in a row...RPI 79, SOS 159...5-5 vs top 50 RPI...3-1 vs top 25 RPI...

Second year in a row that WNC won the conference was put out in the SOCON tournament. SOCON will send 1 team only this year......whether or not it was WNC or someone else it probably will not matter as it regards to UT. Would have looked better if WNC won the tourney.....

This is what I was thinking. The more teams that get into the tourney that we played, the better that bodes for us I would think.

Bubble Watch: Mercer went 0-2 at A-Sun tourney, drop to 43rd in RPI per Warren Nolan. 2nd place in regular season. Bubble team, probably OK.

How are they Okay? 43 RPI, SOS 149, 3-0 vs. top 50 RPI, 1-0 vs. top 25 RPI

Mercer's RPI has actually dropped to 44 since Fitt's tweet...

it still baffles me how a teams RPI from a less than desirable conference can be so low. I think WNC's RPI was like 43 last week and UT beet them 6-2 and they played no where near the schedule UT has.......the RPI obviously has some flaws, good or bad!

Long Beach State wins game 1 over UC Irvine, their record goes to 30-24...ugh.
