The Central Park dogwalker incident had hit full SJW outrage.

Apparently a dog running loose without a leash in a bird sanctuary can effect your enjoyment of bird watching, if you’re into that sorta thing.
Apparently, according to some comments on twitter there is a bird-watching cult in Central Park that is pretty anal about the rules of dogs on leashes and such.

I agree that she poured on the "I'm a innocent poor white woman being threatened by a black man" hot and heavy. That was completely unnecessary and tinged with at least unconscious racism. But the narrative that he did nothing at all untoward seems false. He made a statement that could reasonably be interpreted as a threat to do something to the dog that she wouldn't like.

And I maintain by her staying there, she didn’t take the threat all that seriously.

I agree with that. She did not take the threat as a substantial threat to her life, but she could, and probably did, interpret it as a threat of some sort.

This seems to be what happened:

She's violating park rules. He tells her to leash her dog. She escalates by basically telling him to piss off. He escalates by saying if she's going to do what she wants to do then he's gonna do what he wants to do but she probably "won't like it." Then she goes all racist and escalates by calling 911. I don't dispute that she is almost entirely the one to blame here, especially when she did the final race-tinged escalation. But what he said was one step in the escalation. So he's not simply someone who informed her of park rules and watched her go all crazy on him.

In hindsight maybe a well placed shot of pepper spray would have been a good reply after the “you won’t like it” comment and he calls the dog over with treats. That would have been an interesting twist and I’d submit probably a defendable response.

And maybe this Karen/Kyle would think twice before playing leash police.

Quality post.

We are in agreement.

In hindsight, a bigger overreaction? 😂

They have already found her address, etc. She is about to find out how tolerant, loving, and forgiving the left she supported is....actually she has already found out.

Isn't she a Canadian? Maybe she got US citizenship along the way.

I'm all for her being ostracized by her own. Typical spoiled American woman, who doesn't understand her smart arse mouth and attitude, might be met by something more viscous than a passive aggressive smart arse reply.

He never threatened her dog. She did more damage to the dog than anyone involved.

The alleged threat was giving the dog a treat, which in and of itself is creepy, but his end goal was to get get her to put her dog on a leash, so as not to disturb that particular area of the park where the birds were.
According to his own Twitter, he threatened the dog. It's completely reasonable to think "you're not going to like it" is a threat. He was using the dog treats to get the dog to come to him, by why did he want the dog to come to him? So I agree with you she overreacted. I agree the call to the police was racially motivated. But I think it's complete BS to say he did nothing wrong. He issued an implied threat toward her pet. He was dumb, she was dumber. Not sure what's so hard to see about that.

You are correct, when there are two parties involved in a stupid incident, both parties usually have dumb decision-making that led up to the incident
