The Coach is failing

Because Martin couldn't keep the decent recruits that Bruce had almost committed until he was fired. The talent on this team is atleast half to blame on Martin. Couldn't keep Harris or Hopson which we needed his senior leadership more than production.
This is part lie, part delusion, part comedy. The message board trifecta.

I've been following volnation for years but finally decided to join...

Idk about ccm.....however I do feel (feel free to argue with me no this)that we should of kept pearl and take the two year post ban....at least we would still be competive we would of more than likely have Harris and hopson still bc the draft woulda a come and went by the time the NCAA ruling cAme out...and it looks like sewing make the tourney Neways this year.....

Ppl that are saying would pearl do ne better with this squad maybe yes maybe no but we orally woulda had hopson and Harris on this squad

Also ppl that are arguing bout how pearl did last year....well there were a lot of things goin on outside the court let's not forget the five year previous to last year

Idk how ccm will pan out....I guess were goin to have to see how he recruits, if we get that star out of Memphis I'd say that's a pretty good start

We wouldn't have a program right now if we had kept Pearl. The NCAA would've carpet bombed it and we would be left with nothing. If you think this year is bad, it would've been much worse for the next few years and Pearl wouldn't have been on the sideline because he got a 3 year show cause.

So u think we woulda got the death penalty?

What I dint understand is why no one is talking about Oklahoma(repeat violaters bc Calvin Sampson) lying to investigators about a player getting impermmiseble benefits and all they get is a three year probation

Pearl lied about a BBQ and we get ****ted on...yes nothing more happen to us but if we had kept pearl NCAA at the least woulda given us some post bans ....idk bout being left with nothing but def. They woulda made us pay and Oklahoma gets a way with three year probation

In talking about CCM's 1st year here, it's helpful to go back and look at CBP's 1st year at UT: 2005-06. Pearl took a team that was 14-17 the previous year, and beat Florida 2x, KY at Rupp, and a top-ranked Texas team at Austin. The Vols faded near the end of that season but still finished 22-8. Under CCM, the Vols will have 8 losses by the first week in January.

You are seriously going to give Pearl credit for things he almost did? Hopeless...

Pearl conspired to lie and get others to lie about an NCAA violation. He got what he deserved. The school his left holding the bag for his mistakes. If the moron told the truth then he'd still be here. Somehow he comes away blameless with a large portion of the fans.

He's not blameless at all. We know what he did was wrong, but when you lose the best coach in your school's history when he had our team at a place we have never been before, you kinda can overlook one little lie. We feel screwed because yes it could have been avoided. Pearl didn't have to lie to protect his assistant coaches that had already lied. UT's attorney didn't have to set Pearl up by showing him the photo that the NCAA was going to question him about minutes before meeting with him. The attorney had the pic and knew about it for weeks.

Pearl set the whole thing in motion when, at the BBQ, he told Craft's parents that him being there was a violation, he knew it was a violation, and they could stay if they wanted but it was on them and not to tell anyone. That is the info that basically soured me on the whole thing. The rest of it could all be chaulked up to surprise or covering for staff members but that exchange between Pearl and Craft's parents can't be explained away.

Nor can the phone call made to Craft's father asking him to play dumb again after the photo was brought to light.

On a sidenote, how good is COC? They are 8-1 and coached by Cremins, a decent coach. Weak conference and weak schedule. I think UT is their best win to date.
