The Cuonzo Apologists are Awfully Quiet Tonight

This team has zero confidence on offense. I'm not sure what Conzo wants on offense other then pick and rolls and running the floor, but this team, just like the last 2 years, can't shot. They have no confidence in their shots, and they look lost on offense. The floor spacing is terrible at times, and Stokes, who has unlimited potential, has no post up game for a guy who is as big as he is. Stokes reminds me of Reggie Evans with a better touch around the rim. The offensive development as a team just isn't there, and CCM has failed in this category. Had we played a great team tonight we would have lost by 15-20 points easily.

Alright Cuonzo, the joke's over. Defense does not win games. To win a game, you must score more than the opponent. Yeah, it's good to come up with defensive stops, but it doesn't help when your own offense can't score

Man it ain't looking good at all. I hope and pray they don't play like this the rest of the yr.

We won't we will get hot the last month of the season when all the good teams have their NCAA bids wrapped up. We will be a bubble team and CCM will say we have done enough to get in. We will lose in the first round of the SEC tournament and then lose in the first round of the NIT. Anybody doubt me?

Same damn thing every year. This is Dooley versus Kentucky 2011, stopped supported that nut licker during that game and I'm done supporting Cuonzo now. Bring on the new coach even though we'll still probably blow. I'll cheer whoever Pearl coaches.

So, we should be positive and everything will be ok?

No. You should calm the hell down and relax. It's the first game of the season, not game 7 of the NBA Finals.

I'd like to think we won't shoot this bad again all season.

People like you just make it so unenjoyable to watch and discuss because you are perpetually negative no matter the circumstances. We could be up by 15, and you'd b!tch that it wasn't 20.

Same every season. Guys who haven't posted since March jump back in to show their asses.
F Um.

The problem is this extends well beyond a poor shooting night. This team is still facing a myriad of issues.

So you'll cheer no one?

And yet it was a four-point game. I think we'll survive.

Chris I like your post most days bud, but your delusional if you don't think a team like Michigan St. wouldn't have beat us by 15+ tonight. Xavier tried to give us the game by missing lay ups and FTs, and we answered by doing the same exact thing.

I love the "regular" basketball posters that act like their opinion is somehow more valuable. Sunshine pumping in the off season is meaningless. What happens in season is what counts.

"It happens every season" because we drastically under perform to start every season.

You realize Xavier was favored to win this game, right?

Obviously, a better team would have whipped us playing that way, but I feel like we just rolled the ball out and thought we'd pummel Xavier. At least that is what the body language in the first half suggested. I think we'd approach a game vs MSU with a different mindset.

Who gives a crap? We played a terrible game tonight. If you couldn't see that, you are blind. Defend McRae's lack of the ball for most of the second half. I'll hang up and listen.

He said we "drastically underperform" every season. We lost on the road to a good team who was favored. I'll hang up and listen

Then you'll be greatly disappointed if you go to the football forum where people were seriously predicting 10-2 this year. The "regular" posters aren't the ones on here posting about how Martin HAS to make the Sweet 16 or he's fired, nor are they ones starting the garbage threads about this ONE game. Complain in the football forum about sunshine pumpers. Not here.

That's absurd. No one with any sense was "seriously predicting" a 10-2 football season. I don't think many people believe that a sweet-16 berth is the measuring stick, either. A lot of us just want to see improvement (in both sports). I saw a team that shot the ball terribly from the stripe, took bad shots in the first half, and didn't have much of a plan to get the ball to playmakers in space for most of the game. Is that unreasonable?

That's not a surprise the odds makers know our track record. Do you honestly believe Xavier had more talent on the court then we did? We were not ready to play and looked completely lost most of the night. Had we played like we are capable or even close and lost then it wouldn't be so bad. Tired of the lackadaisical play that has been their trademark under CCM.
