The Cuonzo Apologists are Awfully Quiet Tonight

That's not a surprise the odds makers know our track record. Do you honestly believe Xavier had more talent on the court then we did? We were not ready to play and looked completely lost most of the night. Had we played like we are capable or even close and lost then it wouldn't be so bad. Tired of the lackadaisical play that has been their trademark under CCM.

Correct. Perhaps Vegas has watched us in the early part of the past two years?

Check Xavier's record at home and get back to me.

I know it might not be what you want to hear, but Xavier is a good team with a great home court advantage.

Vegas had them favored for a reason.

That's absurd. No one with any sense was "seriously predicting" a 10-2 football season. I don't think many people believe that a sweet-16 berth is the measuring stick, either. A lot of us just want to see improvement (in both sports). I saw a team that shot the ball terribly from the stripe, took bad shots in the first half, and didn't have much of a plan to get the ball to playmakers in space for most of the game. Is that unreasonable?

For a mod, you missed a lot. I don't even go to the football forum that much, yet I saw plenty of people with unrealistic 9-3 or 10-2 predictions. There have also been a few people seriously saying sweet 16 or fire Zo.

Then you'll be greatly disappointed if you go to the football forum where people were seriously predicting 10-2 this year. The "regular" posters aren't the ones on here posting about how Martin HAS to make the Sweet 16 or he's fired, nor are they ones starting the garbage threads about this ONE game. Complain in the football forum about sunshine pumpers. Not here.

Seems you tend to go a little overboard in the football forum yourself. Just saying.....

I just wish we had a coach that knew offense like Pearl and defense like Martin.

Bruce didn't know offense either. He let his defensive pressure create offensive opportunities...plus he was a master motivator on the sidelines. Those teams played to his personality...and this team is playing to Cuonzo's personality...

I didn't miss anything. I just tend to ignore those with no sense of reality.

Again it's not that we lost it's how we played!!

We played like hot garbage and lost on the road. If we hit 50% of our free throws we walk outta there with a W.

We absolutely played bad, but how many nights will we shoot that poorly? People just tend to overreact and not look at the big picture.

I predicted a 6-6 football season from the very beginning and many called me a negavol and troll. There was nothing overboard about saying they need to put the best player out there to win as many games as possible this year when a guy said to give up on this season and play Dobbs so he can get experience for next year because he has more upside. Way to take it out of context.

I don't believe it is overreacting to criticize obvious problems with our gameplan or our crappy free-throw shooting.

Definitely the 2 biggest problems IMO. Awful game plan tonight, did not work at all. FTs will continue to be a problem for us for the time being.

Lots of 10-2, 9-3 unrealistic predictions in there.
I saw more missed shots with a few bad shots sprinkled in than just bad shots. Starting 1-7 from the field with at least 3 missed layups is not bad coaching, despite popular belief on this board.

Maybe however with our schedule we do not have the luxury of sleepwalking until January like we have done every year under CCM. Tonight was very dissapointing.

Good job. You really knocked that one out of the park.

Actually I did I gave you what you asked for. If your so smart about how hard Xavier is to beat at home then please explain why Pacific, Wofford, Vanderbilt and 4 other average teams were able to beat them at home last year.

Did we play great tonight and just lose to a better team or was I watching the wrong game?
