The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

Thanks for this turd Jerry Jones. Glad you signed Sensabaugh to an extension so I can watch him chase Cruz for the next 5 years.

What a ****ty start to 2012.

I woke up craving Pizza and a bloody mary to kill my hangover, walked to the pizza joint across the street and I spent nearly half an hour there and didn't get any service. Now the Vagiants and Tim freaking Tebow are in the playoffs and the Boys aren't.

Jerry, this is what happens when you don't have an elite QB and can't stop the pass. If you don't get a good corner this draft I will find you and say very inconsiderate things to your face.

Kiper has Dallas drafting Barron. I don't think it's any secret that the first pick will be a defensive back, but anybody think a trade up for Claiborne is in the cards?

I don't think it would necessarily be a great idea. Claiborne is good, but he's not Peterson. I think Peterson's success is leading people to overvalue Claiborne.

Possibly, I've seen quite a few scouting reports saying he may actually be better.

I think standing pat and picking up Barron would probably be for the best, but I'm not sure he's as good in coverage as he is laying the wood.

Yeah. Don't wanna spend a high pick on a Roy Williams type again.

Possibly. I would rather see a corner than a safety, there might be some value in dropping a few spots for Dre Kirkpatrick (who is underrated IMO)

Hopefully Dallas picks up CB Carr in FA.

If not, I hope they can trade up and try to get Claiborne from LSU. I'm not a huge fan of Fitzpatrick from Alabama. The Buccaneers were supposed to grab Claiborne early with their 5th pick, but they just picked up Eric Wright from FA so I don't think they would still draft Claiborne. Maybe Jerry can work something up.

I don't understand the Orton signing.

Dallas overpaid for Carr, but the Cowboys desperately needed help at the CB position so I like the move.

Orton = Romo 2.0
Yeah...not quite.

Orton:
71 79.4 1284 2204 58.3 14532 204.7 6.6 80 57

Romo:
99 96.9 1672 2592 64.5 20834 210.4 8.0 149 72

I understand wanting to have a good backup, but when you have limited cap room to work with and a ton of positions to fill it doesn't make sense. I guess they're basically giving up on McGee too.

I agree on both. Carr's a big CB that can (and does) actually tackle people. Good signing IMO. Orton? Puzzling. I like the pickup of the FB from Houston as well. Vickers is his name I think.

I was taking time off from the interwebs while most of this was going down.

Love the Carr signing. Honestly don't care that we overpaid for him, just look at the top of this page with the comments from the Giants game.

Also, with the Claiborne pick, called it! Sort of. :)

I'm also puzzled by the Orton signing, I thought McGee was on track to become a decent backup. I gotta think Orton has too much value to sit on the bench.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the offseason so far.
