Witten to miss rest of preseason with internal (maybe spleen?) injury. Opener in question.

Saying he's taking antibiotics and may need surgery. Should be cutting it close. Crazy to think having an early Wednesday opener could be the difference between having him and not. What an unlucky fluke in scheduling.

BTW, the damaging blow was delivered by McClain of all people.

According to team sources, Witten has persistently told the Cowboys he is willing to sign a medical waiver that would absolve the team and its doctors of liability in case he re-injured his spleen during the NFC East matchup. However, the team will not accept any waiver as a path to Witten playing in the game, the sources said.

The only team I have witten on, I also have hernandez so not tragic for ff if he doesn't pan.
