The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

Who were those guys wearing the star and what have they done with the Cowboys? That was NOT the same team that laid an egg the last two weeks. Not complaining....well....yes I am.

Upcoming game against the Eggles is so big I can barely contain myself.

Apparently if the Vikings lose the next couple weeks and Dallas beats the Eagles, Dallas gets the 2-seed? Strange.

Up until last night I would have never dreamed it possible. Weirdest season ever. If we beat the birds we are a #4 seed at worst. If 'Zona and the Vikes both lose, we're a 2. Un freaking believable.

How has Jerry Jones not run off every Cowboy fan there is?
I have been a cowboy fan since birth and i wonder that same question. I guess i just remember the glory days when Landry was around with Staubach and Dorsett. The early 90s were also great with Aikman and Emmitt. If Felix Jones would stay healthy i think he could be a 1000 yrd. rusher year end and year out. Romo, well i dont know what to say about him, all eyes will be glued on him today and in the playoffs. Go Cowboys

Although I'm not nearly as into pro football as I was as a child, I must say that it's really nice to be a fan of a team for which you can pretty much say that the season does not start until January.

I love the Vols... But nothing in sports is ever gonna match the attachment I have to the Cowboys.

Losing to the Redskins a couple of years ago on two bomb TD passes in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter is quite possibly my most painful memory ever as a sports fan. lol

I think I''ve been spoiled by the Cowboys. I was a little boy from Austin whose parents moved to Nashville in the mid-70s. My dad and I watched the Cowboys pretty religiously throughout my childhood and I cannot remember a year that they did not make the playoffs from the mid-70s to the early/mid-80s. By the mid 80s, I was into high school and had enough extra curriculars that I did not pay too much attention to pro football until I got to college in the early 90s and found myself stuck in a town where there was not much going on on Sundays, which happened to coincide with the next great era in Dallas football. Since I got out of school in the late 90s, I've been busy to the point where I had to choose between dedicating Sat or Sun to football watching. I didn't have time for both and the NFL could never overcome the history and pagentry of college football in the south in my mind. Basically, I've been tuned in for the best years of Cowboys football and mercifully distracted during the not so great years.

Last Sunday I was watching the Cowboys and Eagles play (wearing a Skins hat no less) and my 5 yr old son asks "You don't like the Cowboys, do you?" I said, "No, not really". He then proceeded to tell me that he really liked the Cowboys. Sonofa...

I should have known something like this was going to happen when I moved the family to TX.

:) :) :)

Send your son a high-five from me.

BTW I know you're probably rooting for the earth to open up beneath Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night, but you got any particular dog in this fight?

I always want the Cowboys to lose, ergo I am pulling for the Eagles. Honestly, I have to give the Boys their props and say they certainly have looked really good the last few weeks. That D is no joke and if the offense clicks, I think they can go deep in the playoffs.

Truth be told, sometimes I wish I had it in me just to take the blue pill and be a hometown supporter, but it goes against every fiber in my being.

It will be fun to watch the local media melt down that would ensue if they lose in the first round again.

I'm still kind of expecting that to happen...

Luckily I only have a few friends that are Cowboys fans, and they are bandwagoners (and thus barely my friends). Although if we lose this game, I won't ever hear the end of it. I don't think I've gone a week without hearing about Romo muffing the hold on the PAT since it happened.

no sense starting a new thread, but the Minnesota defense is making the "hottest offense in the League" look like a practice squad team.

It's wonderful to watch, almost as much fun as watching the Ravens get slapped around yesterday.

gotta love it. under two minutes and Favre is still throwing TD's against the Cowboys' defense.

This beatdown could make Dallas a very dangerous team next year.
