The Cowboys had a prolific offense this season. The offensive-line was the best in the NFL behind Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and Zach Martin. The OL paved the way for an All-Pro season by RB Demarco Murray & gave time for QB Tony Romo to have arguably his best season of his career. Jason Witten continued to be a steady & dependable 3rd down option, while Dez Bryant put himself into consideration for the top WR in the NFL after an All-Pro season.
The Dallas Cowboys finished the 2014 regular season with the NFL leader in Pass Completion % and QB-Rating in Tony Romo, the NFL Leader in Rushing Attempts, Rushing Yards, and Rushing TDs in DeMarco Murray, & the NFL leader in Receiving TDs in Dez Bryant.
Dallas' defense didn't break any NFL records this year, but they did outperform their expectations. The starting defensive lineup mostly consisted of middle-of-the-road players & inexperienced players. There really weren't any Pro-Bowl type players on the defense after DeMarcus Ware left for Denver in the off-season and Sean Lee tore his ACL in the pre-season. The defense played very well under the circumstances and kept the team in several games. Linebacker Rolando McClain played very well all season.
I've been a Cowboys fan my whole life and the last decade or so has been tough to endure. This season however has been different and I hope Dallas can continue their successful run today against the Lions.
Go Cowboys!
