The Dallas Cowboys football circus thread

Anyone who thinks Demarco Murray is rated higher than Romo is crazy. He is even rated higher than Manning which is absurd. Michael Jordan played the game of basketball. Doesn't mean he has shown to be a good GM or owner.

Eh. Romo and Murray are both ~top 10 at their position and not top 5. Romo looked better than usual last year because the offense wasn't built around him. If they don't adequately replace Murray, people expecting a similar TD:INT ratio as last year are going to be disappointed

I think Romo's success came from the offensive line being spectacular

Actually statistically speaking he had a similar year to the previous three. People just listen to the media to usually base their opinions. Save 2012 where his td to int ratio was off he's has 31/10 twice and 34/9 last year.

I'd say 3.8:1 versus 3.1:1 is a significant difference. But yes, I agree that the media and casual fans have been way too hard on him.

Murray rated #4 player in #NFLTop100. Comical. He wasn't even the fourth best player on the Cowboys last year. Romo, Bryant, Martin, Smith

I DONT THINK HE IS NOWHERE IN TOP 25 IN TALENT, wait and see what our backs do behind this big OL, this line reminds me of the one in the 90s and this one might be better when we look back in 10 years, be hard to match the 3 out of 4 super bowls in todays NFL, but this line is already the best in the NFL and look how young and add Collins to the line, the best days are still ahead for this line and Team.

Some of both. Having a run game (not to mention a really good one) to further support the passing game helped.

Before they found Murray, they had games where they were still having to pass the ball in the 4th quarter just to run down the clock at the end.

Anyone think Jerry breaks down and talks with Ray Rice or is he too toxic still? It's not like Jerry has shied away from controversial players.

Rice is only 28 years old and has fresh legs after being suspended last year. Probably has more upside this year than any rb on our roster. Would probably bust his ass on the field to try and get some interest for a future contract or if nothing else get people talking about his on field play instead of his off field actions.

I'm not advocating for or against here. Just speculating. I think someone will break down and talk with him. Any team that offers will probably be a pretty low risk contract. Cheap and/or incentive based.

Jones does stupid **** in terms of football, but he's a damn fine businessman. I don't think he'll touch rice because it might hurt sales or cause a negative media backlash

Watched "The Great Wall of Dallas" the other night. Would recommend to any Cowboy fan............or really any fan of the game.

The Cowboys put together a nice game winning drive tonight. Of course, they wouldn't have had time if the Giants didn't throw on third down rather than running and milking the clock like they should have.

Murray will get stuffed here at the goal line all 4 times during garbage time here.

Because fan base insults, smack talk, and bragging reasons.
