You seriously do not see the difference between asking people to remove their masks and enjoy life vs. using the full force of government to threaten peoples' livelihoods and fine companies if they do not agree?

Asking someone to remove their mask isn't forcing them to do so. They have complete freedom of choice to continue wearing their mask. Kicking someone out of school or firing someone for NOT being vaccinated is forcing them to do so and removing freedom of choice.

We aren't talking about the same thing.

I drew no contrast with whatever policy you're talking about. I'm simply pointing out that Ron DeSantis has been advocating for freedom of choice as to whether or not a person should wear a mask, but that is disingenuous, because he cares too much about which choice is made.

My point still holds. DeSantis has been disingenuous over what he truly wants. It's not free choice. He is opposed to mask wearing. Period.

Ron DeSantis has been preaching for two years now, that the decision as to whether or not to wear a mask, should be left up to the free will of each individual person. By asking those kids to "Please take them off," DeSantis made it clear that he has been disingenuous with his stated objective concerning masks. Sure, those kids have a choice .... as long as their choice is to not wear one.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why? They are F'n worthless and the entire medical community knows it, but your butt hugger politicians refuse to "follow the science" and cling to the one last piece of power they have.

You are really searching for something to complain about.

I personally am against drug laws. I believe it is the right of Americans to scramble their brains with whatever they desire to put into their bodies (as long as they're not endangering anyone else such as by operating heavy equipment, flying a plane, etc.). Let Darwinism run free!

But I don't want them to. I care deeply about families that are shattered by some junkie in their midst who has to keep on keeping on with their drug of choice or convenience. I guess that makes me disingenuous as well. I advocate for freedom while at the same time caring about the choice people make as a result of that freedom of choice.

2 things can be true DeSantis can be for freedom of choice while also pointing out that masks are theater even more so today... of you take the same conversation and replace masks with taking a bath, it's a similar conversation parents have with young children after 3 days of not bathing...

DeSantis did more than that, He asked the kids (albeit, politely) to take their masks off. If he truly was an advocate for freedom of choice, then the choice itself wouldn't matter. Once again, what harm does a person wearing a mask bring to someone without a mask? There is none. If you disagree with their choice, that's fine, but leave them alone about it. If they are bothering you, by simply wearing a mask, then you are the one with the problem.
