Yeah but free agency didn’t start until 1975. And out those roughly 250 everyday players on the list, only 11 of them are HOF’s. No offense to any of those guys but Trout is head and shoulders better than anyone on that list. Trout could have went to a contender but chose to sign a long term deal to stay with the Angels. He chose to do that even after his team had losing records in 4 out of his first 7 years playing full-time. That’s on him. And now he’s stuck on a team that hasn’t gotten past 80 wins since 2015 and probably never will for the rest of his career.

Ernie Banks and Ferguson Jenkins went 19 years without a postseason! That’s an incredible stat that I never knew.
What a shame.
