I can't help but suspect that those who just watched the SEC Championship game just witnessed the start of Florida's fall. It warms my heart to think this. I don't think it will be immediate, but loosing The Great Circumsizer and all the starting D won't help. I also suspect that if ND calls, CUM is gone.

Tebow crying was excellent. Doesn't bode well for an NFL career, but I'd love to have that as an avatar for a while....

Now Texas just has to crush AlaBubba.....

Florida will go down, but they'll rebuild. Their major problem will be the reemergence of Tennessee and Alabama. The biggest obstacles UF faced during most of Meyer's success was a backsliding UGA team and a team coached by Les Miles. He won't dominate anymore like he did then, but it's not like Florida is about to be a middle of the road team.

There's no way that happens. McCoy is falling apart against Nebraska; Alabama's defense is light years ahead of Nebraska's.

Agreed. I don't like it any better this way.
I do... If this is the end of Meyer's run, then at least that means we have a better shot of playing in the SECCG. That's a good first step. And any time Tennessee and Bama play on a neutral field, it will be a crapshoot. I like that.

As for Urban, next year will definitely be a big test and go a long way towards determining his legacy. A brief period of conference dominance followed by a flame-out, or is he here to stay at the top?

Tennessee gets to play them twice a year now if Tennessee wins the east.

This actually sucks....

I wouldn't sweat it *that* much.

Assuming we do face them the 2nd time, that obviously implies we're in the SECCG. Just gotta win that one. Presume Florida drops off after this year, losing Tebow and most of their defense, and we improve like we should, the East is ours. Georgia is floundering.

That said, we're still going to need to beat Florida to win the division.

To be the man, you've got to beat the man...even if you have to do it twice.

Yeah but with the rise of Tennessee, there is a good chance they'll just split knocking the SEC out of a possible championship. That's assuming Tennessee gets back on top. A season like this won't be good for the SEC in the future. It will be near impossible going undefeated while there is a good chance two teams between the Big 10, Big East, Mountain West and Pac 10 will go undefeated every year. Now teams from the Mountain West and teams like Boise are being taken into consideration.

Brantley's not the guy. He is above average at best. CUM might leave to go to ND if he does we have a great shot at FL falling off. I know everyone remembers the ZOOK days. GOOD TIMES

I don't think anybody in the Big Ten is good enough to produce an undefeated season in the next couple years. Same with Pac-10 considering the round-robin schedule and most Pac-10 schools play ranked non-conf every year.

MWC, we'll see. TCU plays Texas Tech in 2010 and 2011, BYU has Washington and Florida State. Utah has the toughest out of the next couple seasons though; 2010 vs. Pitt and at Notre Dame, then 2011 vs. Oregon, at Boise State and at Pitt.

Not that you can count on it, but winning the SEC still puts you in a great spot to play for the national title.

Off topic but on topic of the picture... can anyone believe how bad the guy looks for his age? Guess that's what steroids do because he is one saggy man.

Iowa isn't really losing anyone and they only lost two close games without their starting quarterback. They get Ohio State and Penn State at home next year. I don't know if Iowa can pull off another miracle season. I don't like them so I hope not but they will have the same team and they didn't lose until Stanzi got hurt.

A team as bad as Iowa winning 9 straight was miraculous in the first place. That may possibly have been the worst team to ever make it to 9-0.

Hawaii was the worst 12-0 team ever so no way was Iowa the worst 9-0 team.

Did you forget about the year prior? Iowa lost four games by 12 points. They knocked #3 Penn State out of a NC bid.

Pittsburgh by 1
Illinois by 3
Michigan St by 3
Northwestern by 5

How was this year lucky? If anyone was lucky it's the Big 10. Iowa was up 10-0 in the first quarter against Northwestern before Stanzi got hurt. Their lossess were;

Northwestern 17-10
Ohio State 24-21 in overtime

Iowa wins both those games with Rick Stanzi. Taking over in the Northwestern game was freshman quarterback that went to a small school in Iowa. He threw three passes on the season prior.

Iowa has a miserable, overated fraud of a coach. Iowa is a worthless program and is essentially Cal East.

Pure speculation, obviously, but that Hawaii team would have put Northern Iowa, Arkansas State, Michigan and Northwestern away with ease.

What's Iowa's project right now? Boise State, I think. The Broncos will destroy the Hawkeyes.

How are you a guru. You're completely bias...

I am from Iowa and I hate the Hawkeyes but I follow them closely because all my friends are fans. You have no clue what you're talking about.

I am the first person to rub it in their face when they lost but Iowa is undefeated right now if their quarterback doesn't get hurt. Their freshman quarterback almost beat Ohio State at Ohio State. Pretty sure their starting quarterback would have.

It's amazing to me how bias some people are. I agree the SEC is the best but some of this crap is non sense. Think with your mind. Not your heart.

Be interesting to see what UM can do without Tebow. They still have/will have talent, but Tebow was the X factor. I like our match up next year at home. We will lose some games, but winning that one, would put us in a position to have a shot at the east.

They may have but then they got stomped by a good team. Go look at Iowa's bowl history. They've beaten Flroida/Urban Meyer. They've beaten LSU/Les Miles. They've lost to Texas/Mack Brown by a field goal.

Last year, South Carolina piss pounded Tennessee and Iowa piss pounded South Carolina.

I don't like Iowa, I really don't. But Iowa is undefeated right now with Ricky Stanzi. I think 10-0 against Northwestern with Stanzi and losing 17-10 when the back up comes in proves that. It was the first quarter when he got hurt. Stanzi was tossing it all over Northwestern.
