The End of Florida's Run

I think the luster has gone from the spread option, pretty low point total for a team with a senior QB who has started 4 yrs. They may be in trouble on offense next year.

We might actually be higher scoring next year.

LOL I'm watching the local news and they're reporting live from Gainesville....empty streets and all. Said the riot police that were on duty all went home.....

it was a gimmick that defenses have started to figure out.

pretty lackluster... except for us.

9/4 Miami-Ohio
9/11 South Florida
9/18 at Tennessee
9/25 Kentucky

Looking ahead, here is your problem. Next year, you get UF and Alabama at home. Given who you have graduating and your woes at QB, it seems likely that Alabama will beat you handily. And though Florida loses Tebow and a lot of defensive players, they've been a lot better this year about underclassmen playing defense, and it is certainly conceivable that UF will be favored next year at Neyland.

2011 is a question mark for all three teams, but you go on the road to both that year and it is entirely possible that both will be in good enough shape to continue their winning ways versus UT.

I don't disagree about next year. I do disagree about 2011 - I think that is when UT rises from the ashes. To clarify, I don't think FL is going to be bad next year, but I don't see them continuing to 'rule the roost.' I don't have any idea what Brantley will be like under the pressure - nor do I think that anyone does. The FL D will not be as good as this year, but still a good D. FL looses three games next year I think. UT is likely 8-4 best case. In 2011 though, I see a real chance at playing in the SECG.

You lose Strong
You lose Tebow
You lost Mullen - Meyer has never proven he can win without him.

Other than that, the future looks bright for the Gators [sarcasm].

Yeah he only went 12-1 without Mullen this year.

He has not proven he can win without the first 2.

Guess we will find out if he can.

How are you a guru. You're completely bias...
In what way would I be bias against Iowa? No team gets so much praise for accomplishing so little.

I am the first person to rub it in their face when they lost but Iowa is undefeated right now if their quarterback doesn't get hurt. Their freshman quarterback almost beat Ohio State at Ohio State. Pretty sure their starting quarterback would have.
In other words, they failed when they had a chance. They relied on luck the entire year and couldn't capitalize because their program is a fraud.

It's amazing to me how bias some people are. I agree the SEC is the best but some of this crap is non sense. Think with your mind. Not your heart.
OSU is the best team in the Big 10. I've watched all of OSU's home games in person. They aren't even remotely special. The Tennessee team that played against Georgia, Bama, and South Carolina would have easily beaten any team in the Big 10.

Last night the torch was passed from Florida to Bama for at least a couple years.

For Vol fans I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Meyer no longer has Zook's recruits (I know he's been out since the end of '04) or Mullen's coaching (and Mullen was the one who recruited teblow)...therefore Florida will be mediocre in the years to come.

I won't go that far. I'll believe an Urban Meyer led program will be mediocre when I see it.
