If not for CBP I wouldn't even be watching the VOLS BB Team ! I don't know anything about BB, but I do know this- Before BP arrived I knew of Allen Houston, and Dale Ellis, that's it ! I think it would be hard to find another BB or FB Coach to come here at all, with all the cry baby BS the VOLS fans dish out !
Where are the threads on the Track Team ? Their pretty good too. Let's start bashing those Coaches too ! Let's not forget that our AD is over all of these sports, let's fire him too ! While were at it let's give CPS resume a once over...........idiots !
Talk about something other than firing the coaches or we might never get another decient one for 20 yrs !

We could have gotten a damn good coach then.

As much as I despise Tanning Bed, I will give him his due in that he marketed the program and revived it.

he did an amazing job in getting UT where they are now, but it seems he can't take us any further.

It's because of Bruce Pearl that we can have this argument that we can get a better coach.Do you think we could have done better than Bruce 10-15 years ago.

not. he says CBP is not at fault for Tylers regression. i say he is at fault. when you have no control over your players and allow them to be undisciplined and play street ball... everyone on the floor looks bad.

Dean Smith won less with more talent than anyone in the history of basketball. Only guy in America that could keep Jordan under 30 per night. In fact, remind me about Jordan's soph and Jr seasons. The old man talked about his system and pissed away talent.

The rest: player development is a big deal, but it's not keeping guys from the league. Tyler's explosiveness has gone somewhere. His midrange game left with it because he doesn't have confidence that he can rise up over people any more. If he has the athleticism or freakish length that the bastardized NBA game requires, he'll get there, regardless of who is on UTs staff. Case in point: AHouston had the worst collegiate coach ever and was an NBA All-Star.

It will cost him his job, Scotty was supposed to be the next great player at UT, he will never come close to it cause of the system we run, if Tobias is handcuffed the same way, Bruce will not be getting top talent anymore. Look north, Cal will dominate until he has to vacate and Billy D will be back at some point...2 million for 3rd in the East won't cut it with this fan base, we have expectations now.

Prince is the poster child for playground ball. He played out of control all day and CBP kept him on the court. This playground stuff I cant watch.

Which explains Allan Houston to a T. The league is littered with guys who have never had any semblance of a respectable coach, especially the HS to NBA types. NBA is rarely about what a player has been taught to date.
