The rest: player development is a big deal, but it's not keeping guys from the league. Tyler's explosiveness has gone somewhere. His midrange game left with it because he doesn't have confidence that he can rise up over people any more. If he has the athleticism or freakish length that the bastardized NBA game requires, he'll get there, regardless of who is on UTs staff. Case in point: AHouston had the worst collegiate coach ever and was an NBA All-Star.

pearl's unwillingness to put a disciplined team on the floor is hurting tyler. i agree... if tyler has the stuff to make it in the nba... he ultimately will. but the last 2 years under pearl have not helped him convince any scouts.

Its not the coach. Just his senior class. The headband crew, we will be better next year with a new attitude. These guys are not leaders. They were the first to quit 2day

I see it both ways...Bruce doesn't help Tyler by the way his system works, at the same time he can't make Tyler has to take it upon himself to be better, some of it is Tyler's fault as well.

Blame goes to CBP on this one. Tyler and Chism disappear because they are not used or plays are not called for them to be active.

I do not even care if it works, just run the oldest play in the book, that everyone else runs. One time!

i can see the errors of his coaching philosophy but we wont get a better coach.... just a different coach.

I think Pearl needs to hire Buzz back as a recruiting guru. He had his greatest success with Buzz's players.

This thread is embarrassing. Bruce Pearl has us consistantly in the Top 20, when we used to only dream of it. Now we want to bury him because of an horrible effort on the west coast? Give me a break. Sometimes I wonder if many of you are teenagers, or Kentucky fans working undercover.

UT played horrible today against USC. Let's fire Bruce Pearl!! Well North Carolina has gotten smoked by Texas and Syacuse, and also lost to Kentucky freshmen. Let's fire Roy Williams!! Lousville got embarrassed by both WESTERN CAROLINA & UNC-CHARLOTTE. Let's fire Rick Pittino!! Florida got smoked by Syracuse, and lost to RICHMOND. Let's fire Billy Donovan!! I could go on... but what's the point. You just don't bring negativity to a program after each loss. Especially a program that is still getting accustomed to annually high expectations, and a Top 10 recruiting class on it's way. Wanna talk about what UT needs to improve? Fine. Wanna talk about firing our coach. No way. :nono:

It's not really just this game. I'm not screaming fire Pearl but i'm starting to come around to the idea that we will never have a final four team under Pearl's system.

Gal lee you're right on there. UNC should fire Ol Roy, Louisville should can Pitino and Floraduh should fire Donovan too...besides, what have they done lately that CBP hasn't done...............oh wait :huh:

I guess he figures that since Pearl is paid like other Elite Coaches, he must have had Elite success. I mean, Sweet 16s, and a 24 hour #1 ranking equals National Championships.

Oh... I get it now!! You can get away with losses if you win a national title. Let's see...there are 347 Division 1 basketball schools... only one national champion each year. We will give everyone a five-year grace period since their last title. Holy moly!! We better begin handing out those 342 pink slips now!! And God-forbid someone wins more that one title during the next five years, or it might be 343, or 344!!

And let's blame Pearl for accepting his salary now. Nice.

Since you love Bruce so much, please call him and tell him fans are begging to see a competent offense on the floor. The likes of which we haven't seen since Chris Lofton left. Also, we are getting tired of the complacency. Bruce was on the sideline clapping just like Fulmer used to do. He better light a fire under the players arses and his own arse. We have played flat the past 5 games, this was just the first team talented enough to make us pay for it.

I personally think Bruce is a good coach and he can get the job done. My observation of him this year and years past..........where is he at??? I don't see the same coach that has been on the side lines in the years past??? Where is the passion........where is the fire??????? I think something is going on here. He is a good coach and can get a fire set under the players....I have seen it, but not this year????

I am calling him on his cell phone now. Wait a minute... "Hey Bruce, this guy on the basketball forum said that you need to get off your arse and stop being complacent.......... Yea really.......What was that?..... Ok I will tell them" Bruce said that he hadn't coached well this year, and the players hadn't cared about winning. He hadn't noticed this until you brought it to his attention. He thanks you so much for letting him know. He is now going to get off his arse.
