The Endzone Garden Thread

Alright gardeners, I've brought in a bunch of cayenne, Carolina reapers, and ghost peppers. I've grown cayenne for years, but this is my first round with the really hot ones. I'll be drying and stringing the cayenne, but I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the reapers and ghost peppers. Any suggestions?
Pictures?

I'm gonna make some BBQ sauce with some of mine, if I ever harvest any. I may make some hot sauce and I plan to dry the rest and make flakes.

I've got about ten each reapers and ghost peppers drying. I'm going to try to make some kind of vinegar based hot sauce with the rest that I'm about to pull off the plants. I've never grown these, but it seems like it took the plants a long time to start producing. I do have enough cayenne and Tabasco peppers to stop an elephant.

Only took me 3 years. Seriously. This was 3rd attempt. These were planted May 3rd. I've got some Peach Carolina Reapers and Chocolate Scorpions but I can't find the pictures. They still look like the others so it doesn't matter. If all the flowers produce fruit, I'll have more than I know what to do with.

My three remaining pepper plants are covered with blossoms and baby peppers. I’ll harvest the Fall crop green before the first freeze.
I picked the last ones yesterday and cut down the plants. Whee!! Of course, the windowsill over the kitchen sink is now completely occupied. I bwah-hah-hah’d at the 3-4 blossoms on the plants. 😎

Exie, I’m starting peppers from seed in front of southern facing windows. They get plenty of sunlight. What think you of adding a heating pad beneath the tray? Will this expedite germination?

I’ve always started seeds on heat mats, except for peas and sweet peas. I think it helps, especially with tomatoes, peppers, and others that require warm soil temps (not just warm air temps) to get going. Just be sure to not let the soil dry out.

(Also we keep our house on the cool side.)

Yeah, your thermostat pic revealed this. Reminds me of friends in Germany who kept their home in the low 60s. My missus winter low is 70, though she’ll allow 66-68 while sleeping so long as it’s 70 when she gets out of bed. She prefers humidity at 50-55%.

Exie, so far, pepper seeds in six of seven peat cups have sprouted. Heating pad 👍🏼
Sweet! But what are you going to do with them between now and March or April or whenever you can plant them outside?

I know mine were two feet tall and gangly as hay-all when I could finally put them out.

Last year, my peppers grew quite slowly. I’m aiming for perfect size to transplant in April. If there ready in March, all the better.
